I thought this thread was revived for the new comedy central logo. Not that it is horrible, but looks too much like the copyright symbol.

Love how in the Starbucks thing "We become a publicly traded company" coincides with "Mermaid chick is no longer visibly spreading her tail-leg thingies"

The new logo makes it look more like a government agency.

I like it though.

Now it looks kinda more like "I brought you these two fish"

Actually it's appropriate because starbucks coffee kinda tastes like there were fish in the coffeemaker

the new one isn't terrible (apart from the shineyness effect thing) but the old one is so charming.

The old ebay logo was ugly as hell, so step in the right direction IMO. The latest Walmart logo is heinous. Friend said "it looks like a butthole" and that's all I've been able to see since.

plus with the arby's thing the issue for me is that the hat is three-dimensional and rendered but the text logo is flat- what is their point? what's that about? is there some hat-as-signified / corporation-as-signifier thing going on? whatever semiotics, it mostly reminds me that a friend of mine had the theory that looking at the Arby's sign was bad luck- if we drove by certain stripmalls he would suddenly say, in a serious voice, "don't look at the hat"

Now in his honor I intone that warning everytime I see an Arby's.

Judging from their Flickr redesign, you can rest assured that there is much, much worse to come, and that the worst of all will be the final selection.

I don't hate the Flickr redesign like some people do, but I admit there's a certain amount of fun in ragging on Yahoo.

Hipsterbranding is awesome.

If only because our SU's last design team basically covered everything in that style and we mocked them for it.
