i was just thinking today, as i demolished a half-melted milk chocolate ritter sport, that this is the best chocolate i've had in the US so far, and also comes closest to the new zealish cadbury's chocolate of yore. tried the cornflake one a couple weeks ago and it was so good - reminded me of how much i love afghans so am making some tomorrow.

Rum Trauben Nuss

When my Dad went to visit last year he bought a bunch of these wholesale and I wasn't sure at first but grew to really like it.

Probably going to vote marzipan but there are ones listed here I haven't tried. I've never had Rum Trauben Nuss and it sounds A+. Guess that flavour must not be featured in the assortment packs my local Aldi stocks.

(What is the pear brandy truffle one like? That sounds kind of grim but I have faith in Ritter Sport!)

so is the cornflakes one! I thought about posting a disclaimer, like this:

*if you must have a milk chocolate ritter sport

I actually think the secret winner of the milk chocolate ritter sport's is the strawberry yoghurt one, the little pieces of dried strawberry are so good

they're selling these for $1 apiece at my local dollar store! but only the leftover holiday ones. the nut crescent cookie and caramelized almond ones are both pretty solid, although they'd be better with dark chocolate.

carpe diem buy them all

lag∞n, Sunday, 10 April 2016 16:51 (eight years ago) link

yeah, I'm thinking I should buy them all (they have like 50 total) and return them to the Ocean State Job Lot next door ('I forgot my receipt') for store credit. Job Lot raised the price to $1.75 so I could make a pretty good profit that way.

small doug yule carnival club (unregistered), Sunday, 10 April 2016 17:00 (eight years ago) link

no buy them and eat them

lag∞n, Sunday, 10 April 2016 17:04 (eight years ago) link

job lots is a good store btw

lag∞n, Sunday, 10 April 2016 17:05 (eight years ago) link

maybe I'll save 10 for myself and sell the rest on the ilx marketplace — they seem to have a pretty big fan following here. the dollar store also sells vanilla chai latte ones (with black tea extract) which I don't think I would enjoy. Job Lot is a good store but they seem to have scaled down their Ritter sport offerings recently (they didn't have the cornflake ones the last time I went there) which is an outrage imho.

small doug yule carnival club (unregistered), Sunday, 10 April 2016 17:16 (eight years ago) link
