please for the betterment of mankind lock this thread.
ignoring a phobia doesn't make it go away. at best you can just hide it away for a long time until it inevitably sprouts up stronger than ever in a sickening mass of clusters and holes and pods and baby toads that take over your brane. better just to put it all out in the open and let exposure therapy do its trick.

i.e. pretty soon you are so desensitized to holes, cluster, etc. that you begin to dream of a career as a beekeeper or something.

the comic is "holes" or "punctures" by shintaro kago. it's about a guy who is so afraid of getting holes in things,he pre-emptively puts holes in everything.

oops, assumed it was from junji ito's uzumaki, even though i didn't recognize the image (haven't read all 3 volumes). duh, lol.

kaga's stuff doesn't look anything like ito's, after all. he's a much cleaner draftsman, for one thing, and his layout are amazing! need to track some of his books down, as i've seen his art in various places for ages w/out realizing it.

nah, I think it's probably a real, undoctored photo. it looks like the piercing has forced the boy's mouth into a raised-up frown so that his bottom lip is level with his upper teeth. I can contort my mouth into the same position without difficulty.
many people on the snopes forum seem to think it's real, not that they're necessarily experts.

if you want to make it clear that you're responding to something someone said previously (we say "upthread"), just copy that post into the "Add a Post" box and place your response after it.

For Forrest Fulton Architecture‘s competition proposal, the Alabama-based firm designed a 900,000 sqf biomorphic spatial surface that connects the adjacent city and the landscape. The architecture focuses on creating an urbanistic landscape that morphs the common urban element of Yerevan, the superblock, to the site, a truncated hill along the natural amphitheater of the Yerevan. This new model of development supports a “holistic, ultra-green lifestyle” with overlapping natural and urban phenomenon. The artificial “hill”, which is clothed in native plants irrigated with a recycled gray water system, creates viewing seats for the Yerevan and Mt. Ararat. The exterior perforations recall the intricate details of traditional Armenian lace needlework. These apertures are not mere surface treatments but rather terraced exterior space that provide amazing views.

The BORÅBorås Park Pavilions and Skating Rink is a place for summer play and winter games, designed by Carl Fredrik Svenstedt Architect. A glazed winter garden and a bandstand are sited in the park as rounded forms, thin perforated shells clearly visible from the city centre. The shells form a meeting point where several paths intersect, thereby framing an open glade towards the south, towards a skating rink, a children’s playground in the sunshine. A third shell, the closed sphere of a machine shed reinforces this orientation of the park.

The Dean of the Faculty of Arts & Sciences and a committee of Philosophy Professors collaborated in the selection of Steven Holl Architects to design the complete interior renovation of an 1890 corner building at 5 Washington Place for the consolidation of the New York University Department of Philosophy within a concept which organizes the new spaces around light and phenomenal properties of materials.A new stair shaft below a new skylight joins the 6-level building vertically with a shifting porosity of light and shadow that change seasonally.
