For balance I am listening to this for the first time before going back to RAM for the second listen.

This may be the most serendipitously timed album release in recent history, if the label is smart enough to promote it properly.

Either that or the unluckiest, in that it'll either get swamped and ignored or pick up a swathe of admirers from disappointed Daft Punk fans.

Yeah it kinda feels like they should have released this album three years ago, there's a real 'Magician-remixing-Cut-Copy' vibe to the whole thing. I mean it's an enjoyable record but it feels like a furrow that's been pretty comprehensively ploughed by now.

Keen students of the Daft Punk/Pharrell debate from three weeks ago should note that these are exactly the sort of terrible disco vocalists I was talking about. Who is this Jeppe guy that these dudes all bring in to honk over the top of their records? His unjustified land-grab is worse than Emeli Sande and Hitler, dammit.

I'll give it another go today - I've tried twice and found it pleasant but switched to Random Access Memories or a DJ mix after two/three tracks.

i was/am not as deep in this scene, so it's newer to me and i'm enjoying it.

Yeah it's been knocking about for ages but I'd kind of blotted it out.

after living with a while i've downgraded this album to pleasant and enjoyable rather than WOW MUST HYPE but its high points are pretty high. definitely not as boring as random memories

it's nice there's only 2/3 dance albums released a year so we can compare them all

god forbid two retro-ish discoey dance albums that are released within a week of each other should be mentioned in the same sentence

They aren't even trying to do the same thing though.
