each verse is T. Rex, lead-in to chorus plus most of chorus itself is Sweet, the title part is Gary Glitter.

The song also sounds like Cheap Trick - no?

I'd tend to say more Cheap Trick knew all THOSE influences too. ("Elo Kiddies" as a good example.)
