sure, why not. but i mean basically all he said was "this season is gonna rock!" tho the no stand-alones is a relief.

GET ON WITH IT

DG, Wednesday, 26 March 2008 16:03 (sixteen years ago) link

the no stand-alones is a relief.

that's mostly what I was referring to. the rest is just hype

Shakey Mo Collier, Wednesday, 26 March 2008 16:05 (sixteen years ago) link

EXCITED

rrrobyn, Wednesday, 26 March 2008 16:14 (sixteen years ago) link

people seem to forget that we last left our refugees being attacked by a massive cylon fleet without the ability to spin up their FTL drives. I just hope the resolution to that is fun, and not something solved after three minutes by Starbuck flying in saying "live together die alone" guys.

Anyway, started re-watching Season 3 with my friend who is catching up on what he has missed last night. I had forgotten how amazing that season started.

latebloomer, Thursday, 3 April 2008 22:45 (sixteen years ago) link

there is no bigger fan of this show than my wife, but yeah mom is in town to help out with baby so we're kinda stuck. my mom has a tendency to talk through movies/ask a lot of questions/start side conversations, etc.

Shakey Mo Collier, Thursday, 3 April 2008 22:52 (sixteen years ago) link

First episode is streaming on scifi.com as of noon tomorrow...

James Mitchell, Thursday, 3 April 2008 23:30 (sixteen years ago) link

15th of april for sky viewers :(

i don't understand it when people say things like this about tv! are you not on the internet?? it is a glorious day and age!

rrrobyn, Friday, 4 April 2008 01:57 (sixteen years ago) link

Jordan, Friday, 4 April 2008 02:55 (sixteen years ago) link

i know, internets etc.

Jordan, Friday, 4 April 2008 02:55 (sixteen years ago) link

ok watched the live stream on scifi. it was good. this ep doesn't waste any time getting started.

latebloomer, Friday, 4 April 2008 20:27 (sixteen years ago) link

can't wait to rewatch it tonight.

latebloomer, Friday, 4 April 2008 20:27 (sixteen years ago) link

Jordan, Friday, 4 April 2008 20:31 (sixteen years ago) link

it was streamed live from 12-1 est. not on there now. :-/

latebloomer, Friday, 4 April 2008 20:34 (sixteen years ago) link

;_;

DG, Friday, 4 April 2008 20:54 (sixteen years ago) link

wtf I was channel-surfing last night and came across some hyper-fastpaced series synopsis on the sci-fi channel that went on for like 20 minutes. it was really weird.

Shakey Mo Collier, Friday, 4 April 2008 20:57 (sixteen years ago) link

it was like listening to a drunk 13-yo describe each episode as quickly as possible

Shakey Mo Collier, Friday, 4 April 2008 20:57 (sixteen years ago) link

i am totally doing delayed gratification on this
saturday morning awyeah

rrrobyn, Friday, 4 April 2008 20:58 (sixteen years ago) link

Why do the Cylons come every 33 minutes?

James Mitchell, Saturday, 5 April 2008 00:39 (sixteen years ago) link

Shakey - I think you mean this.

schwantz, Saturday, 5 April 2008 02:03 (sixteen years ago) link

Or this, maybe?

schwantz, Saturday, 5 April 2008 02:04 (sixteen years ago) link

It's part of these weird recap meme this year. I think it got started by some fan doing one for The Sopranos, then ABC did one called Lost in 8:15, and The Wire also had one for seasons 1-4. They even got the same (still unknown?) narrator from the Lost one to do BSG's.

Nhex, Saturday, 5 April 2008 04:39 (sixteen years ago) link

you can watch the season premiere "He Who Believeth In Me" here!

latebloomer, Saturday, 5 April 2008 12:32 (sixteen years ago) link

Not a bad premiere. Drunk John McCain's on-going meltdown keeps getting better.

Apparently, Edward James Olmos is on the internets telling everyone that the final season is heartbreaking. It's not clear if he means that as in "not good" or "sad."

Bill in Chicago, Saturday, 5 April 2008 14:15 (sixteen years ago) link

ejo is all up in the internets?

cutty, Saturday, 5 April 2008 14:57 (sixteen years ago) link

Not to be cranky, but I was pretty unimpressed.

forksclovetofu, Saturday, 5 April 2008 18:35 (sixteen years ago) link

it was pretty unimpressive

remy bean, Saturday, 5 April 2008 19:26 (sixteen years ago) link

After Apollo brought up Zack last night, I had to wonder if maybe the Lost Adama doesn't play a significant role this season.

Terrible Cold, Saturday, 5 April 2008 20:57 (sixteen years ago) link

ok. ground cleared. next week then, for the good stuff.

Alan, Saturday, 5 April 2008 23:25 (sixteen years ago) link

I wasn't impressed when I saw it Friday night. Then I woke up the next morning and realized that it wasn't a terrible episode and that I'm pretty happy it's back on the television, especially given the paucity of decent offerings at the moment. I was mostly pissed off about the forced cliffhanger ending, but I'll get over it.

The whole Baltar is the new Manson family plot is pretty intriguing. He continues to be one of the best realized characters in film or tv (perhaps on par with Al Swearengen from Deadwood) and that alone makes it worth watching.

Bill in Chicago, Sunday, 6 April 2008 05:59 (sixteen years ago) link

i liked the episode quite a lot actually, and i was a season 3 hater bigtime.

butttttt

baltar is "one of the best realized characters in film" ?!?!!!!!!

sean gramophone, Sunday, 6 April 2008 06:02 (sixteen years ago) link

I never fail to be entertained by Baltar's facial reactions to everything.

So of course, I liked the episode. For other reasons, too.

Nhex, Sunday, 6 April 2008 07:18 (sixteen years ago) link

Baltar is easily the best character on the show.

latebloomer, Sunday, 6 April 2008 14:47 (sixteen years ago) link

s'alright innit

DG, Sunday, 6 April 2008 16:15 (sixteen years ago) link

I like Dr Baltar. I would be more like him if I could, but I could never be that way.

I am currently watching Battlestar Galactica 1980, it's pretty terrible!

jel --, Sunday, 6 April 2008 16:31 (sixteen years ago) link

I prefer to imagine that Baltar is played by Billy Mitchell.

Terrible Cold, Sunday, 6 April 2008 17:46 (sixteen years ago) link

for some reason i find most baltar scenes boring (except when he's actually learning stuff) - but he's outdoing tony soprano in the 'hateful dude gets mad fine bitches' stakes

first 15 mins were great, like the chief's new gruffer tone

blueski, Sunday, 6 April 2008 22:52 (sixteen years ago) link

he's got a lot of things on his mind to make him gruffer, that's for sure

latebloomer, Sunday, 6 April 2008 22:56 (sixteen years ago) link

it was ok

baltar has always been the best character

s1ocki, Monday, 7 April 2008 03:56 (sixteen years ago) link

butttttt

baltar is "one of the best realized characters in film" ?!?!!!!!!

Slightly out of context...but, you clearly don't appreciate my mildly drunken hyperbole.

Bill in Chicago, Monday, 7 April 2008 04:23 (sixteen years ago) link

he's totally the comic relief too
which, uh, says a lot about how much of a lolcomedy this show is...
i'm into it getting darker and darker as it all comes to an end though, bring it

haha while we were watching the first 10 minutes, a friend of mine was like, so while the writers strike was on the fx guys just fucked around with new ways to make laser explosions eh
fully cheesy i guess but whatever it made me wish i had a huuge screen

xpost

rrrobyn, Monday, 7 April 2008 04:26 (sixteen years ago) link

does anyone think this ep's cliffhanger was anything but lame

s1ocki, Monday, 7 April 2008 15:24 (sixteen years ago) link

lol yeah it's not like we don't know what's going to happen.

overall i thought it was a solid episode. but really i just want to get this season started and see where they go.
