It's part of these weird recap meme this year. I think it got started by some fan doing one for The Sopranos, then ABC did one called Lost in 8:15, and The Wire also had one for seasons 1-4. They even got the same (still unknown?) narrator from the Lost one to do BSG's.

Apparently, Edward James Olmos is on the internets telling everyone that the final season is heartbreaking. It's not clear if he means that as in "not good" or "sad."

Not to be cranky, but I was pretty unimpressed.

After Apollo brought up Zack last night, I had to wonder if maybe the Lost Adama doesn't play a significant role this season.

ok. ground cleared. next week then, for the good stuff.

I wasn't impressed when I saw it Friday night. Then I woke up the next morning and realized that it wasn't a terrible episode and that I'm pretty happy it's back on the television, especially given the paucity of decent offerings at the moment. I was mostly pissed off about the forced cliffhanger ending, but I'll get over it.

The whole Baltar is the new Manson family plot is pretty intriguing. He continues to be one of the best realized characters in film or tv (perhaps on par with Al Swearengen from Deadwood) and that alone makes it worth watching.

i liked the episode quite a lot actually, and i was a season 3 hater bigtime.

I never fail to be entertained by Baltar's facial reactions to everything.

So of course, I liked the episode. For other reasons, too.

Baltar is easily the best character on the show.

I am currently watching Battlestar Galactica 1980, it's pretty terrible!

I prefer to imagine that Baltar is played by Billy Mitchell.

for some reason i find most baltar scenes boring (except when he's actually learning stuff) - but he's outdoing tony soprano in the 'hateful dude gets mad fine bitches' stakes

first 15 mins were great, like the chief's new gruffer tone

he's got a lot of things on his mind to make him gruffer, that's for sure

overall i thought it was a solid episode. but really i just want to get this season started and see where they go.

i liked how angry and suspicious roslin was though. she's getting meaner.

I thought it was pretty good. Characters I dislike so far this season: Stabuck's husband (too whiney); Baltar cult cru (espesh the diseased kid); Tigh (fantasy Adama killin was lame).

was the sick kid a thing from prev season?

The boy's mother visited Baltar in the brig in the penultimate episode of season 3. She showed a photo of her son asked Baltar to bless him.

I loved the cheesy-ass shrine they had with Baltar's photo in it.

What about the son of the dude who attacks Baltar? Was there meeting shown previously?

I don't think the incident was shown. But iirc that guy was one of the "circle" members who were secretly throwing cylon collaborators out the airlock at the beginning of season 3 (after the exodus from New Caprica).

yeah, they've referenced his family before. loved baltar's babecult - manson overtones mixed in w/ the jesus.

Also, was Baltar's mental cylon girl ok with him shagging the cult girl?

Maybe I shd rewatch some season 3.
