pandemic, Saturday, 9 June 2012 17:33 (eleven years ago) link

Number None, Saturday, 9 June 2012 17:34 (eleven years ago) link

man what a pass

cool flop by the goalkeeper too

the route is ban (k3vin k.), Saturday, 9 June 2012 17:34 (eleven years ago) link

news just in: Robben is a bit selfish

Number None, Saturday, 9 June 2012 17:38 (eleven years ago) link

ooh hand up for offside whilst slipping whilst intercepting

pandemic, Saturday, 9 June 2012 17:38 (eleven years ago) link

The 2 CMs for Denmark have done a rubbish job screening the defence but they've been v good in possession.

pandemic, Saturday, 9 June 2012 17:39 (eleven years ago) link

If the conditions are as energy sapping as the commentators think then England will be clapped out by 25 mins on Monday.

pandemic, Saturday, 9 June 2012 17:41 (eleven years ago) link

I thought sneijder was getting the hook there for a sec!!

pandemic, Saturday, 9 June 2012 17:42 (eleven years ago) link

BBC still talking disapprovingly about Holland's two defensive midfielders despite the fact that De Jong went off ages ago.

It's Dirk time!

Matt DC, Saturday, 9 June 2012 17:42 (eleven years ago) link

Redknapp said the Dutch would struggle to get out of this group :o

Number None, Saturday, 9 June 2012 17:43 (eleven years ago) link

Rommedahl's had a grand game, too. 34 and doing Willems for pace all the way.

William Bloody Swygart, Saturday, 9 June 2012 17:43 (eleven years ago) link

Kjaer is seemingly great at international tournaments and useless the rest of time. Can't believe this is the same roma/wolfsburg player!

pandemic, Saturday, 9 June 2012 17:45 (eleven years ago) link

must have been years since kjaer was this good xp yeah

sonderangerbot, Saturday, 9 June 2012 17:45 (eleven years ago) link

oooh that should have been a pen for holland right?

sonderangerbot, Saturday, 9 June 2012 17:49 (eleven years ago) link

oh definite pen there

pandemic, Saturday, 9 June 2012 17:49 (eleven years ago) link

no rule against handball in this tournament, should get interesting when players pick up on it.

Merdeyeux, Saturday, 9 June 2012 17:50 (eleven years ago) link

yup

it looks like something rupert the bear would wear (Algerian Goalkeeper), Saturday, 9 June 2012 17:50 (eleven years ago) link

Bye bye Holland

Ismael Klata, Saturday, 9 June 2012 17:51 (eleven years ago) link

woah, nicely done denmark

pandemic, Saturday, 9 June 2012 17:51 (eleven years ago) link

Shit game. Expecting a lot more from Germany v Portugal.

Matt DC, Saturday, 9 June 2012 17:51 (eleven years ago) link

It's not a penalty if your hand doesn't move towards the ball.

StanM, Saturday, 9 June 2012 17:52 (eleven years ago) link

Well done Denmark.

Worried that this result means Holland have to beat Germany :/

a permanent embarrassment and an occasional disgrace (onimo), Saturday, 9 June 2012 17:52 (eleven years ago) link

It's not that much of a shock

Ismael Klata, Saturday, 9 June 2012 17:52 (eleven years ago) link

I didn't know St Totteringham was the patron saint of Holland until now.

Desire is withered away from the sons of men! (aldo), Saturday, 9 June 2012 17:52 (eleven years ago) link

Wtf why are they predicting portugal to turn over Denmark?

Ismael Klata, Saturday, 9 June 2012 17:53 (eleven years ago) link

they probably don't know that denmark handled them easily last time they played

pandemic, Saturday, 9 June 2012 17:54 (eleven years ago) link

Wouldn't count on Huntelaar getting a lot of playtime though. Also because Holland won't survive the group stage tbh.

Best player in Europe vs some not very good players?

xxxp

a permanent embarrassment and an occasional disgrace (onimo), Saturday, 9 June 2012 17:54 (eleven years ago) link

Several of the best players in Europe just failed to turn over Denmark, this tournament could be a victory for dogged antifootball yet.

Matt DC, Saturday, 9 June 2012 17:58 (eleven years ago) link

Not sure germany is the game where you take a defensive midfielder out of the side 'arry

pandemic, Saturday, 9 June 2012 17:59 (eleven years ago) link

rio too good to be in the squad, nice to know.

pandemic, Saturday, 9 June 2012 18:00 (eleven years ago) link

Roy's left them speechless here

Ismael Klata, Saturday, 9 June 2012 18:00 (eleven years ago) link

Seedorf just completely blanked Lineker's request to detail his own personal history of inter-team racist abuse on national TV. Nicely done.

Matt DC, Saturday, 9 June 2012 18:02 (eleven years ago) link

yeah i lolled

pandemic, Saturday, 9 June 2012 18:03 (eleven years ago) link

Is hummels starting? He better be.

pandemic, Saturday, 9 June 2012 18:04 (eleven years ago) link

All in the head, that game. Krohn-Dehli's not that great a player, Wigan-level perhaps, but he was so much more composed than the Dutch. They just seemed... it was like, one or two things started going against them, then their sense of injustice kicks in - constant gesticulation, yelling, sulking almost. Like they were waiting for the universe to even it up for them or something. Sneijder stayed classy all night, but Robben - god, he'd be such a great player if he wasn't such an utter bell-end.

William Bloody Swygart, Saturday, 9 June 2012 18:04 (eleven years ago) link

Germany are going to destroy them

Ismael Klata, Saturday, 9 June 2012 18:10 (eleven years ago) link

Picked a bad night to go for a meal with my wife. I shall record this and attempt a Likely Lads score avoidance strategy.

a permanent embarrassment and an occasional disgrace (onimo), Saturday, 9 June 2012 18:11 (eleven years ago) link

Is p much the Germany team I'd have said is their strongest.

pandemic, Saturday, 9 June 2012 18:11 (eleven years ago) link

It's our anniversary and going out never entered my head

Ismael Klata, Saturday, 9 June 2012 18:12 (eleven years ago) link

HaHA Cabaye on SSN refuses to answer questions in English cos he's on international duty. Sky dude looks crestfallen.

pandemic, Saturday, 9 June 2012 18:13 (eleven years ago) link

It's my birthday tomorrow and I didn't want to miss those games. Tough choices.

xp

a permanent embarrassment and an occasional disgrace (onimo), Saturday, 9 June 2012 18:14 (eleven years ago) link

Postiga is still going to be Portugal CF come France 2016 isn't he? Probably Quatar 2022 as well.

pandemic, Saturday, 9 June 2012 18:14 (eleven years ago) link

Could we do a Problem Positions XI? Lampard & Gerrard in the central midfield berths.

Ismael Klata, Saturday, 9 June 2012 18:18 (eleven years ago) link

I think LB would be 3/4 of the teams at the tournament.
