whatever happened to robert green anyway?
― Steve Youngblood (dan m), Monday, 11 June 2012 16:50 (eleven years ago) link
that was...ok from England. pleased for Joleon. Hart is a wanker. think part of the problem is that with Gerrard and Parker screening the back 4, one of them needs to take the ball forward and link the forwards more. but i'm actually kind of impressed that Gerrard's had the discipline to play deeper.
technical shortcomings of the players as a whole v. much in evidence. France aren't all that. neither of these wd compete with the better teams in the tournament i don't think.

Hart is the best England gk in many years and possibly world class but not best in the world.
England looked good for about 20mins but I assume that's it for the tournament now.

nah that seems fair but partly cos our goalkeeping standards have declined. unsighted or not you don't get beat on yr near post like that.

Not a greatly entertaining match so far tbh. Sloppy from both sides, France disappoint me.

England play a pretty good passing game when they're moving the ball through the midfield from the srtikers back to the defenders.

Both teams are well matched, neither look likely on this evidence to reach a semi-final.

tbf i thought the first half was good, the second was miserable. i think some combination of welbeck, ox, young, henderson, wilshere, cleverly etc could combine england's first nice passing move in 2014

Neither team is getting beyond the second round.
