at some point I had it drilled into my head that not wearing an undershirt was practically akin to putting your dick on the dinner table, so I always wear an undershirt under dress shirts

Always under a work/dress shirt. Otherwise I'd sweat right through it and have the odd sweat spots.

I've recently got these seersucker casual shirts though, and I went undershirtless with one of them today. Worked out pretty good.

Undershirt much more comfortable against my skin, and helps prevent the aforementioned sweat spots. OTOH, I like the flow of air between the buttons when I don't wear an undershirt, which is nice given that button-down shirts are usually worn tucked into my trousers cutting off ventilation. I usually don't tuck in t-shirts for that reason.

haven't worn an undershirt as such since high school
