I discovered banana trip because I slice into coins so that I don't have a full banana in every smoothie. Banana never *quite* hardens, just turns into this ice cream-like texture. If you blend it it's even creamier. Lovely.

Frozen banana "ice cream" is delicious. You can add all kinds of stuff to it. I just make mine in the blender. It doesn't even really taste like bananas imo - more just like vanilla soft serve.

is the slicing into coins the secret trick? they still end up kind of brownish pureed bananas. i'd really liken it more to banana pudding than ice cream.

all this talk of juicers and methods seems to defeat the point of snacks, which is to shovel stuff absent-mindedly into one's mouth with no effort at all

just eat carrots and bananas and grapes as they are, it's fine

bananas won't freeze solid so you don't need to pre slice them into coins. just peel them and bag them whole in the freezer - make sure you get as much air out of the bag as possible. the longer you freeze them for the browner they'll go, try not to keep them for more than a week or so, i guess. i use a food processor, you gotta let it run for like 5 mins for ultimate ice cream simulacrum (my blender is a piece of shit, most cheap blenders you can only pulse in 10 sec bursts or the motors burn out).

frozen mango is real good blended in, as well.

<3 I posted a picture on my FB yesterday and a stream of Canadians came out of the woodwork chuckling with glee. Another reminded me of 'Sol,' who I'd forgotten about.

tbh I find it easier to chop the banana into chunks at least before freezing -- it breaks down a little easier in the food processor and doesn't put as much stress on the motor.

yeah but you can just break up the whole banana into chunks before throwing it in the blender - that was my point about the banana not freezing solid. plus whole banana = less surface area to brown. xps

Been eating mixed nuts and sunflower seeds as snack food recently. Also drinking lots of lemon water.
