does anyone think this ep's cliffhanger was anything but lame

lol yeah it's not like we don't know what's going to happen.

overall i thought it was a solid episode. but really i just want to get this season started and see where they go.

also the tigh-killing-adama fantasy seq was so cheap

i liked how angry and suspicious roslin was though. she's getting meaner.

I thought it was pretty good. Characters I dislike so far this season: Stabuck's husband (too whiney); Baltar cult cru (espesh the diseased kid); Tigh (fantasy Adama killin was lame).

was the sick kid a thing from prev season?

The boy's mother visited Baltar in the brig in the penultimate episode of season 3. She showed a photo of her son asked Baltar to bless him.

I loved the cheesy-ass shrine they had with Baltar's photo in it.

What about the son of the dude who attacks Baltar? Was there meeting shown previously?

I don't think the incident was shown. But iirc that guy was one of the "circle" members who were secretly throwing cylon collaborators out the airlock at the beginning of season 3 (after the exodus from New Caprica).

yeah, they've referenced his family before. loved baltar's babecult - manson overtones mixed in w/ the jesus.

Also, was Baltar's mental cylon girl ok with him shagging the cult girl?

Maybe I shd rewatch some season 3.

good episode i thought, they kinda saved the 'omg starbuck gonna kill the prez' cliffhanger w/ 'basically, women are crazy'. loved loved loved the cylon schism.

One more episode from putting this gently on the "never recovered from the New Caprica aftermath" trashheap and walking away.

ya this is pretty boring. this show just completely lost the sense of urgency that had me glued to it in the early seasons. don't think it's ever recovered from those first scenes of cylons bickering back in late season 2... worst most disappointing reveal ever

Hardly. They're of the opinion that they've earned that scene; I don't think anybody really cared.

especially not in the second episode of the season... way to stay bogged down in old shit instead of pushing fwd

I dunno. The bagpipe goodbye was certainly a bit much (BSG loves overlong goodbyes way too much lol), but overall I've enjoyed the two episodes so far.

I can see that. Taking the mystery away from the Cylons as villains was probably not the best idea. For those who see that as a sticking point, I can see why the show wouldn't be as compelling.

However, for me at least, the mystique factor has been taken up by the mythology behind Earth and the final five, how it all ties to the Lords of Kobol and the origins of humanity, etc. But then again, I'm a nerd, speculating about that back story stuff's my bread and butter.

But I've also always dug the soap opera and INTENSE DRAMA (TM) moments,
which maybe aren't to everyone's tastes. I love Adama when he's pissed, and Roslin when she's pissed even more.

Anyway, that's just my view. I'm still enjoying it, at least.

I noticed that Adama fished the ship model out of the trash.

First two episodes so far feel like set-ups for later episodes so there's a lot of foot tapping right now. Loved the ALL OUT SPACE WAR in the first 10 minutes of episode 1 (bored CGI guys sitting around waiting for strike to finish)

It hasn't helped that I just watched the entire season + movie of Firefly/Serenity in the past week w/high quotient of smart-assed violence.
