Great chat there. Love Chasny the guy so much. Super nice but no bullshit (other than the good kind i.e. a sense of humor) and a real cool insight. Bishop is of course from another planet or something.

It was a recommendation for another record but it sounded kinda like a marketing ploy -- but why would anyone use me for their promotional target? So I figure it must be a normal ilxor. Just don't know who!

surprised there isn't more post-release discussion in this thread. loving the new album, but i never gave the first one a ton of time, so maybe my perspective is different.

is the first one better, according to hardcore Rangda-o-philes?

i think the first one is better, but the second one is great, too. i just want these guys to make an album every month.

The first one is definitely more improvy and less songy. If that seems like it would appeal to you, I recommend it! I like it.

I definitely prefer the first one. The 2nd seems a bit restrained in comparison, which is not really what I want from these guys.

I feel like all three of them took the opportunity to freak out a lot more on the first one; the second one is more organized/normal.

this split LP is sounding goood, just put the Rangda side on the good turntable to rip it. What I initially thought was vinyl distortion turned out to be Corsano doing some kinda muffled cymbal thing at the beginning.

I just picked up "Formerly Extinct" the other day and am loving it, though in an odd turn of events they released their 1st album second and 2nd album first kind of.

Also just got the Rangda/Dead C split...the Rangda half is good....the Dead C side is like some real prime slab from them, awesome

anyway, damn you brooklyn and massachusetts; i want rangda to play l.a. again! i saw them at the eagle rock center for the arts and they were great, but there were these weird drunk people in the front of the crowd rockin' out like they were at a journey arena show. they left once they realized what kind of music rangda actually play.

I have never seen Rangda live, hope that changes for the next tour. I imagine that they are playing these gigs to "warm up" and then maybe are gonna record, as Chasny is basically from Florence at this point (or Northhampton?, Corsano has been based around there at various times too). Good news regardless.
