AMC zombie series from Frank 'Majestic' Darabont - The Walking Dead

i like this show a lot and I enjoy talking about it here and with Mr Veg after the show - that being said I sat through an hour-long conversation yesterday in my office where 2 guys rehashed everything from the episode and then went on long flights of fancy about how since the zombies are decomposing why don't all their teeth fall out and they eventually stop biting ppl?

haha yes. these zombies are just constantly falling apart—their hands just pop off no problemo if they are caught in some handcuffs or whatever. that is UNTIL they grab you and they're suddenly super strong and have jaws of iron and healthy stay-in teeth that are just inescapable!

Realistic take on zombies would probably be pretty boring, because tbh the military would probably have no problem using it's zombie-proof arsenal (ie tanks, planes and nukes) if necessary.

Just goes to show how spoiled we are, that reanimated dead with too much realism attached is not enough drama for us.

Still really enjoying this 3rd series. Even though reading the comics meant I knew what was coming in that last scene, still enjoyable vile.

I loved last night ep, had no idea they were going to bring in another group. I'm excited to see what will happen with Dale and his brother!!

I couldn't help but laugh at Mishonne one mode throughout the episode.

Mr Veg was rolling his eyes at the whole 'tea drinking' tableau, everyone making weird staring faces, it was v funny

ugh may be done with this show after that episode. terrible. they broke off a side story with the worst character.

See, here we go. Season starts strong, goes to shit after a couple of episodes, Walking Dead MO. If all goes according to plan, the next five or so eps will be mostly talk.

What do you guys want from this show??

Yeah this been the strongest three episode run of the series.

I felt like that was a pretty ponderous way to introduce a standard small-town dictator storyline. That's kind of been my beef whenever I get bored with the series, it could be told with less Darabont-DOYOUSEEness. It's kind of like a series that missed out on cable TV's storytelling progress of the last ten years?

i feel like they crammed a whole lot of stuff into 44 minutes or whatever.

As someone who digested the first 70-something issues of the comic over the course of a few days, one of my biggest complaints is the amount of time the show has taken to get to major turning points! But then, the first season was truncated, and the second one too talkative. I haven't seen the new season yet, was just reacting to the first appearance of complaints.

Yeah, bearing in mind you're talking about six years of the comics there...

I just realized that the walls of the town that they mentioned 5 times might not only be to keep zombies out. They keep people in too!!!

Subtle. "We are all the walking dead," etc.

How many times did the Michonne actress' script say stares suspiciously in it. About as many as the governor's said averts eyes enigmatically and the same number as blondie's said drops one more level of defence against the governor's charms

Some awful "looks" exchanged throughout.

At this stage part of the show's theme of people benefiting from this new and crazy world seems to include Andrea waking up in a world full of her anarcho-fascist dream date.

Still enjoyed it though, great gore once again and the last scene was cool.

I'm just O_o that Andrea would latch onto psychopath govnah so quickly. I mean, I guess if Shane was her thing then he must be a fascist dream come true but yeuuuuuch

it did feel pretty lame and rushed. like couldn't he have told a story about his dead wife beside a fire in the next episode or something. that would have been enough to seal the deal and remove her initial suspicions

I'm still half wondering if he has his wife and child's heads in that aquarium

I wasn't surprised Andrea took so quickly to the governor, he offered her exactly what she wants, a safe place, a community, friends, etc.

not to mention all the undead heads preserved in formaldehyde she desires

andrea & michonne kinda bore me on their own, they need to get back with the main group imo

i assumed they were related to her, because they were black

in the comic one is her boyfriend and the other a good friend

I'm wondering if they're setting it up for Andrea to be playing the long game - good prisoner to Michonne's bad prisoner. But it would be pretty lame if they went that way without Michonne apparently being clued in.

Andrea seems to self-involved to play a long game? idk. Be good if she was.
