lobbing a keeper who's foolishly rushed out of goal is one of the best sights in football. Combine that with the speed of thought and athleticism required to execute the shot and that's what makes it one of the best goals ever. So yeah, science

Schalke line up had 3 or 4 19 year olds in it and they still pwnd Inter. Guess that team does need rebuilding after all. Nice to see Raul being Raul. Schalke have been desperate this season, still bottom 1/3 in Bundesliga I think, but when he can be bothered Farfan is a heck of a player.

Recorded both games last night and decided to watch first ten mins of Inter/Schalke before I left for work at 2am this morning, my loud cry of "HOLY FUCK!" when Stankovic scored after 25 secs may lead to recriminations when the rest of my household arrives home from work later. this is probably true yeah

goalkeepers now are supposed to be reasonably athletic and competent at normal fitba skills

Real Madrid. Even as a fan I was sort of shocked by the cold efficiency with which they killed off Roma. Cold but always with a sense of beauty of course. The last 10 minutes reminded me a lot of the way Ajax around 1972 would freeze games just by passing into infinity.
