Kaputt is a lock.

❏❐❑❒ (gr8080), Wednesday, 6 February 2013 00:24 (eleven years ago) link

yeah but a lot of votes are just to annoy the Kaputt haters!

pfunkboy (Algerian Goalkeeper), Wednesday, 6 February 2013 00:27 (eleven years ago) link

voted for Kaputt. Why? Great Art always wins.

administrator galina (Matt P), Wednesday, 6 February 2013 00:39 (eleven years ago) link

Our works in stone, in paint, in print, are spared, some of them, for a few decades or a millennium or two, but everything must finally fall in war, or wear away into the ultimate and universal ash - the triumphs, the frauds, the treasures and the fakes. A fact of life: we're going to die. "Be of good heart," cry the dead artists out of the living past. "Our songs will all be silenced. Except for Kaputt by Destoyer, in all likelihood."

God willing.

gorgeous

christmas candy bar (al leong), Wednesday, 6 February 2013 01:26 (eleven years ago) link

I'm a destroyer stan as much as the next guy but come on, rubies / your blues / streethawk >>> kaputt

danzig, Wednesday, 6 February 2013 01:43 (eleven years ago) link

i'd reverse that: ttupak >>> kwahteerts \ seulb ruoy \ seibur

administrator galina (Matt P), Wednesday, 6 February 2013 01:46 (eleven years ago) link

I kind of get the impression it's not longtime Destroyer stans who are most in love with Kaputt xp

The Reverend, Wednesday, 6 February 2013 01:47 (eleven years ago) link

it's very true that the love for this album is more "universal" than it is strictly "niche"

hip hop lagging behind

Van Horn Street, Thursday, 7 February 2013 00:17 (eleven years ago) link

Hey, Infinite Sense Of Value...
Hey, Mystic Prince Of The Purlieu At Night!
I heard your record, it's alright...

❏❐❑❒ (gr8080), Thursday, 7 February 2013 00:24 (eleven years ago) link

So ilxor really loves Kaputt then,

Van Horn Street, Thursday, 7 February 2013 00:25 (eleven years ago) link

unsurprisingly this was a very convincing victory

christmas candy bar (al leong), Thursday, 7 February 2013 00:29 (eleven years ago) link

This is partly about audience splits I think - I'm betting that a large segment of voters were split not just between Silent Shout and Fever Ray but also those and Third, whereas as a general rule I suspect the kind of voter who would put Kaputt first was not troubled by the lure of any other option.

Tim F, Thursday, 7 February 2013 00:37 (eleven years ago) link

the famed "silent shout majority" as it were

christmas candy bar (al leong), Thursday, 7 February 2013 00:38 (eleven years ago) link

on the other hand there are also possible errors in voting, in which some people may not have actually seen kaputt listed on the ballot.

christmas candy bar (al leong), Thursday, 7 February 2013 00:39 (eleven years ago) link

or accidentally checked off 'the streets' and voted and then immediately cursed, realizing their error.

christmas candy bar (al leong), Thursday, 7 February 2013 00:39 (eleven years ago) link

Streethawk, then Kaputt, then Rubies, Your Blues a distant 4th

Iago Galdston, Thursday, 7 February 2013 00:40 (eleven years ago) link

never been curious to hear kaputt, maybe I will now

☯ t (wins), Thursday, 7 February 2013 00:42 (eleven years ago) link

What! Lol. Ridiculous. Kaputt is 2000+late

sleepingbag, Thursday, 7 February 2013 00:43 (eleven years ago) link

don't call it a cloud rap i've been high for years (zvookster), Thursday, 7 February 2013 00:50 (eleven years ago) link

FTR I think "Kaputt" is a great album but this poll is really about ILM taste factions not greatness.

Tim F, Thursday, 7 February 2013 01:01 (eleven years ago) link

Oh this is great. Kaputt beat Fever Ray and Silent Shout combined. Haha. Probably a few spite-voters, then.

Btw I just heard about this book about life behind german lines in WW2 called Kaputt. Do you guys think the name of the record has anything to do with that? It would really bring something to the record, I think, this sense of the living in this world gone completely wrong.

Frederik B, Thursday, 7 February 2013 01:03 (eleven years ago) link

hey guys I got this idea, and hear me out because I know there's gonna be some reactions from the tumblrsphere, but do you know what we gotta poll now? Destroyer vs. Weird Al Yankovic.

ILM is kinda sucking these dongs (boning and meta ignore nsfw) (how's life), Thursday, 7 February 2013 01:08 (eleven years ago) link

ok

❏❐❑❒ (gr8080), Thursday, 7 February 2013 01:09 (eleven years ago) link

xp Yes, Frederik, the Malaparte novel is where the Destroyer alb title comes from

Iago Galdston, Thursday, 7 February 2013 01:18 (eleven years ago) link

Thanks. Never knew that. Intriguing.

Frederik B, Thursday, 7 February 2013 01:23 (eleven years ago) link

detrimental to the legitimacy of the entire list
