btw I am a terrible person to ask about most PS exclusives because the vast majority of them can suck a nut IMO

for example, Infamous is a total dick

im still early in, but so far i dont dig the controls much in infamous 2 - i am going to have to remap a lot of controls on games (where possible) because put the aim and shoot triggers on l1/r1 instead of l2/r2 is just super stupid to me.

oh yeah that would not help, the aiming is fairly finicky as far as i can tell.

I realized I was not going to be capable of playing Infamous when I died repeatedly during the first "mission" after the tutorial, where 5 guys slowly walked towards me in the middle of a park and I couldn't kill ANY of them

uncharted 2 is really good; uncharted 3 is too much of an interactive movie not enough of a game imo

GET: Orange Box, Demon/Dark Souls, Touch my Katamari (if you can get it cheap and you can)

Nah - they are kind of the same. The most different is the third one because the tracks have elements that change / destruct each time you race through it, plus it has a horned in story mode. Handling and crashing is the same throughout all three, pretty much. Pacific Rift has some good tracks. The bummer is that the first two games have lost their online servers & really half of those games was the multiplayer - single player is kind of boring after not too long (not enough tracks or variety or something).

The Motorstorm RC game is my favorite though (and it doesn't have online except for leaderboards).

i'd definitely like to hear some more PS3-exclusive recs too. Yakuza games? White Knight Chronicles or other RPGs? PSN stuff?

Tokyo Jungle is very very silly but also a lot of fun if you like vague post-apocalyptic animal simulators

it should be noted that everytime you breed, the game restarts with those stats... even though it doesn't tell you that!

the hilariously bad graphics are a definite bonus for Tokyo Jungle.

best JRPG is Valkyria Chronicles, beautiful watercolor artwork, plays like a strategy RPG like Fire Emblem or FF Tactics but without the grid. steer well clear of White Knight Chronicles and FF13, both terrible. 3D Dot Game Heroes is ok if you want an oldschool Zelda fix. Ni No Kuni is gorgeous, battle system gets a bit repetitive after a while though.

i am half in love with quantum conundrum but it has some of the worst first person platforming EVER. its a fucking puzzle game, don't make me do the same sloppy 1st pers jumps a bunch of times in a row after i figure the puzzle out.

#1 complaint abt puzzle/platformers in general, esp when combined with front perspective. not far into it yet, but that closure thing on ps+ seems to get that right, jumping as game design, not player torture.

i may go back to QQ, but the jumping did frustrate me. honestly it really remind me of much Portal got right

no i havent bought wipeout hd yet, and for that i apologize

any thoughts on these? only had time to play uncharted 1, and so far i really like it! manages to pull off the semi-indy funny adventure vibe without being hamfisted about it, and only had to endure one irritating timed platforming section so far. combat seems like it might suck a bit, but i am hoping that aspect is sorta downplayed in favor of tomb-raidery puzzle platforming.

oh duh and i also played the first part of enslaved, and liked what i saw, but got to that point of tired where my skills radically slip so i quit before getting much further than i did when i played the demo.

if you like uncharted you're gonna love 2.

am i right in thinking that the combat is going to be pretty limited, or does it get better if not?

the clerk at gamestop slipped me a GOTY version of uncharted 2 with sort of a wink wink vibe, which seemed cool until i realized that the bonus content all seems to be multiplayer based, which uh who gives a fuck

uncharted 1/2/3 are all the same shit which is basically interactive indiana jones movies so ymmv but it's fun to show what hte system can do.
enslaved got old fast for me. Same for 3d dot heroes unfortunately; it just wears thin. maybe i need to retry it.

why are you wasting your time with this shit when you could be playing Wipeout HD

btw did you know you can upload and use your own music playlists in Wipeout HD

2 is so much better

combat doesnt change much but it seemed smoother in 2

and 3 was forgettable

hay I bought a PS3 last week, I have Ni No Kuni for it, what else should I get (from all however many years of PS3's existence)

would like some:
- JRPGs I won't finish
- maybe a couple of the objectively best open-world actiony games (is this Red Dead Redemption?)

yeah Red Dead Redemption rules. Skyrim is prob the next best open world game but old west is better than fantasy imo.

silby you really should get Yakuza 3+4. The most enjoyable combination of all your criteria.
