If you don't care about the quality of the actual album or song or thing being referenced, you can try:

SHOT OF LOVE

(It's a Bob Dylan album--not very good, however.)

Tangled Up in Blue

By the way, there is a burger joint with a similar concept, called Grill 'Em All in Alhambra, Los Angeles, California: http://www.yelp.com/biz/grill-em-all-alhambra-2

I've seen another restaurant with a similar concept, but do not remember the name. I think it's pretty fun and could work!

Best of luck!

Kuma's Corner in Chicago has the burgers named after metal bands, if that's what you're thinking of

Also one of these drinks needs to be named PSYCHO KILLER

My friend has a burger place where they're all named after bands, too. It's not that uncommon.

If I ever ordered a Dylan-inspired drink, I think I'd want a Sad-Eyed Lady of the Lowlands. (But would settle for a Cowgirl in the Sand.)

WRATHCHILD - something red, like a bloody mary
RAINBOW IN THE DARK - tequila sunrise maybe
ELECTRIC EYE - blue curacao something or other but tuff, not lame
ACE OF SPADES - black russian?

emil.y, it's so sad, near to where I live Green Day has a stake in this diner where there are dishes weakly named after punk songs, it's such a groaning facepalm, like I swear one of the dishes is called "God Save the Turkey Giblets" or something

today's tom soy yum, mean mean thai (Spectrist), Thursday, 14 March 2013 21:52 (eleven years ago) link

Hahahaha, that's so awful it almost circles back to being brilliant. Almost.

emil.y, Thursday, 14 March 2013 21:54 (eleven years ago) link

I'm surprised that no cheesy microbrews have ever done a Bitches Brew with a picture of the owner's dog on the label painted in a mati klarwein style.

Oh there are some brilliant suggestion in here! Thanks! I'll be giving the menus later this week and I'll let you know which ones we ended up using.

We actually have a meat lovers pizza called Captain Beefheart already!

I've been trying to think of a rock name for Fisu (shot of Fisherman's Friend-infused vodka, popular in Nordic countries) but the only thing I can think of is FISH FROM MARILLION. Which isn't good.

I wanted to try that! But it was $$ so I bought cheap beer instead

I tried a glass once, based on the name alone, but was disappointed. Then again, I'm not a dark beer person at all (more IPA), so I have no one to blame but myself.

Darth Magus (Tarfumes The Escape Goat), Saturday, 16 March 2013 03:06 (eleven years ago) link

Phew first day opening today. It was fucking exhausting. Full house though and people said they loved the place and the drinks, really slow service but theres a learning curve for everything i guess.

I ended up using several shot names from here so cheers and thank you ilxors!! There are some great ones later on the thread but didnt get the chance to use them, will try them in the near future. here's what made it so far: (black betty, foxy lady, supernaut, money, keith mooner and barracuda) most popular shot today was the hunky dory. Ill post pics of the place soon.

Word of advice dont open a bar ever. Good money but its not fun at all, at least the first few days. Ill go bald over the stress of the past few days.

Moka, Saturday, 16 March 2013 09:27 (eleven years ago) link

In all seriousness, best thread ever.

Has anyone said rum sodomy & the lash yet? Re beefheart, there is a variety if tomato called couer de bouef so you could make a regular bloody Mary as long as you lied about what kind of tomato you were juicing.

you should name your jaegerblasters something like stratoblaster or teleblaster.

how's life, Saturday, 16 March 2013 14:20 (eleven years ago) link

i would call that an lj in a red dress, respectfully.

(nothing but) flowers - an all-floral liqueur concoction, like st. germain & creme de violette & whatnot. sounds horrible.

would drink a bitchin' camaro, regardless of what was in it.
