bran's lot are sort of turning into the worst indie band ever, can they just get to where they're going and disperse already

paul kaye is basically unemployable as far as the uk audience goes - i'm sure he's probably right for the role but he is always just paul kaye and nothing else
― r|t|c, Tuesday, 9 April 2013 14:13 (eleven years ago) link
lol @ worst indie band ever, that is the best way to describe that story arc

I am not familiar with Paul Kaye, it sounds like that's for the best?

I really enjoyed Paul Kaye in this!

If you want to know more/risk ruining his character, Youtube Dennis Pennis.

dennis pennis is the only time he's not been "paul kaye" though
― r|t|c, Tuesday, 9 April 2013 15:31 (eleven years ago) link
i had no idea about paul kaye casting so that was a big wtf moment for me but i actually thought he was very good in what seems to a fun role standing in for 2 or 3 book characters.

Bran grew so much that when we first saw him, I thought he was Jojen, at first.

took me a bit to figure out where i recognized Bolton's scout (dude on the horse in the last scene) from.Noah Taylor, the guy who played hitler in Max. if he's going to be a reoccurring character i will probably not be able to stop thinking of him as a scraggly hitler with a beard.

He reminds me of Nick Cave, who seems like he'd be a House Bolton dude.

He was great in Doctor Who a couple of years ago.

think it was probably a poorly written scene, but mrs stark's long monologue about jon snow was fairly shit imo.

Jamie/Brienne were one of my favorite pairings in the book and I am happy the show is doing well with them

What was the really vile thing he said in their confrontation this week? I'm trying to find it in reviews, I can't quite remember it. It was before they actually fought.

Are you thinking about the crack he made about Loras being more the girly type Renly went for than Brienne and that she was way too mannish for someone like Renly?
― relentless technosexuality (DJP), Tuesday, 9 April 2013 19:34 (eleven years ago) link
tried to rewatch the scene, it was like one really sharp line and i remember thinking it was quite risqué/vulgar even for this show.

Hen of Thrones.

Kingslayer kind of reminds me of Sawyer from Lost before he got all whipped and emo. He's got the zinginess down as well. Those two characters together are such a great pairing.
Emilia Clarke is probably the worst offender re: bad acting. Alfie Allen isn't a great actor but he feels appropriate for the role and what he has to do, and yeah Sansa doesn't have to do much at all either. Daenerys has a shitload of traumatic and weird shit going down all the time and has exactly the same demeanor and facial expressions no matter what's happening to her.

Real Sex, maybe?

IIRC (and I have seen way way WAY too many episodes of Real Sex) the odd penis sighting was always flaccid

I couldn't remember seeing one on there either, but I didn't watch every episode so I thought there maybe might have been.

btw the stuff with sansa/littlefinger and tyrian's squeeze being all suspicious of his motives. my reading is he's helping her cos he loves her mother, so the suspicions that he is after sex are otm but it's not as sinister as him wanting sex from sansa. i read a few reviews that seem to miss this entirely.

Seeking Robb Stark Look-alike from GoT - w4m - 25 (New Orleans)I am an avid fan of George R. R. Martin's series Game of Thrones (both the books and the show). I have recently purchased a replica of the Iron Throne as seen in the television show, and need a partner to play out an elaborate fanatsy. In my fantasy, I am Daenerys Stormborn Targaryen, Mother of Dragons, and Rightful Heir to the Iron Throne and the Seven Kingdoms. After crossing the Narrow Sea and defeating the forces of Westeros, it is within my power and right to slay all of those who betrayed my family and denied me my rightful place for so many years. The most vile enemies of house Targaryen, House Stark and House Baratheon must pay the highest price. All of those who fought against the Mother of Dragons are slain - all except one. When I come to Robb Stark, out eyes lock and something moves inside of me. I realize I need to have him, want him, and I can tell he is thinking the same. I order my guards to throw him in the dungeon and later that night, I have him brought to me, in the throne room. There, on the Iron Throne I've so recently won, I make wild and passionate love with him, repeatedly. Please only respond to this post if you look like Robb Stark! I would appreciate pictures, but please, no names. In order to stay as true to the fantasy as possible, I ONLY want you to refer to yourself as Robb Stark. You will need to provide your own clothing. Please keep in mind that you will have recently participated in a battle and been thrown in a dungeon, so you will not be wearing your nicest furs. I'm looking for a Stark in the streets but a wildling in the sheets.
