These guys are really good when they are instrumental.

These guys are really bad when they use vocals.

I really like Ronald Lippok's vocals!

Weird, I thought I had contributed to this thread earlier.

Anyway, am amazed that this seems to be *the* Tarwater thread. Such a great band and one that I am surprised that ilxor is luke warm about.

Funny that you say that. I was sure I had contributed to this thread too. One of the few German bands I like. I got that early album from 1996 "11 6 12 10". The singer's voice reminds me of Lawrence from Felt.

Having a Tarwater Friday. God, they sound fucking beautiful.

Pondering what else was on that Tarwater/To Rococo Rot/Kreidler spectrum? (Not necessarily involving the same people - more, reaching similar conclusions).

The Notwist, Schneider TM? Some K-RAA-K label stuff?

Playing Animals, Suns & Atoms because of this. What a great record. Good memories.

Isn't it, just? I sometimes play it and think it approaches my idea of perfection.

Can't quite get the track listing right but so enjoying trying (and/or loving playing Tarwater and To Rococo Rot, particularly).

(Just noticed there was a new Kreidler album last month).

Sort of compiling a follow-up of later works by the bands on the link above:

(I'm actually mostly just enjoying some of the more recent releases that I'm slightly less likely to have heard. I've not actually been that methodical so "later works" is very flexible according to how much wine I've had).

But I always enjoy ILXOR pointers about tracks.

My favorite later-period track from this cohort is Kreidler's "Radio Island" - from their European Song EP.
