littlefinger is becoming one of the only interesting people on this show. i mean, it's awesome, but everytone is always so 'honor!' 'family!' 'oath!' 'boobs!'

some good power convos, nice bit of spectacle with the wall, couple of plot clues, piece shuffling otherwise. interesting that hbo balked at corpse nudity w/ ros. more interesting than surprising maybe. or maybe not even interesting, i dunno *shrug*

i thought it was v good for a set up ep which are usually a snooze

They've given us enough hints over the past two seasons to put WHO together imo - or at least I'll be very very surprised if its not who I think it is. WHY I have no idea though I'm starting to think it's "just because he can."

My husband hasn't read the books so he keeps asking about this character, and I'm still not sure if it is a big deal to spoil it or not.

i think actually it's not that bad, but it's not a modern accent. it's 100 years old, which is why it sounds weird, but i suppose it makes sense for the character.

my favourite accents to listen to on this show are: sean bean (obviously), Nikolaj Coster-Waldau (not necessarily "good", but nice to listen to) and liam cunningham, who does a beautiful durham/northumbria thing.

ygritte show accent is p much straight manc, or more specifically lancashire manc suburbs. i know ppl who sound a lot like that

roz was a whoo-er in the north that was chummy with theon iirc but didn't get any further along than that

I would like to point out that people generally adopt accents from their peers not their parents according to studies

i mean not that it matters. this is a terrible show about wizards that i don't even like and i only watch because everyone else does and i never post on this thread although the episode last week was good and i liked it when they blew up the boats.

As an American all I get is a southern gentleman out of littlefinger in a few random words and am nodding along blankly to all the other accent stuff you're all going on about.

It's a bit Welsh, I thought? Or am I not hearing it right? It is a very strange accent.

Well it'll be like one emphasized word per every three lines that give me that impression.

i think part of the problem is he's clearly reaching for a deeper voice than he naturally has, plus he seems like like he's not naturally an accent guy

welsh would be "correct" in some sense, since he's from the vale and theoretically vale accents = welsh

i think in a weird way his accent is worse or more distracting than dinklage's, because he seems to have something specific in mind that he's trying to do, where as dinklage hardly bothers these days

I had no idea Dinklage's was so weak. USA! USA!

from what i can tell dinklage's "accent" is basically just dropping his Rs and opening up his As a little bit
