"No one," Mr McDonald said, laughing. "That's because it's a stupid idea.""

I'm getting on a plane to Melbourne today. I guess I live there now.Boris Johnson appears to have soiled it before I got there.
Also a friend of E's was physically assaulted on a number 86 tram yesterday afternoon. i think I should take the free transfer to Port Moreseby.
That seems all rather negative but i am pretty excited. I shall be sipping a dry cappuccino in Lowlands on the High st on Friday afternoon and loving it.
― American Fear of Pranksterism (Ed), Wednesday, 28 August 2013 20:25 (ten years ago) link
Eh the 86 is one of the more unpleasant routes to traipse round on, its best to exercise care on it at best of times (she says, having come home on it tipshy last night at 10pm)
Lowlands is 5 mins down the road from my mate A's house! Nice cafe.

No offense to anyone from Qld or Western Sydney, but if I never hear about either of those places ever again I'll be a happy man
― ornamental cabbage (James Morrison), Friday, 30 August 2013 00:06 (ten years ago) link
A top tip for the 86 is to get on at the front and announce 'Tickets Please' as loud as you can. Watch the entire back half of the tram empty.

Melbourne's not better, that's just something people from Melbourne say. Both cities are great. Sydney has beaches though, and February is the last month of summer, so a great time for them if that's something yr interested in while it's cold & miserable at home. (If not per se, lots of drinking can be done in sunshine next to or close to water, both at the beach and in the city.)
Basically fappening can be what's happening, possibly in a nice restaurant. And I'll see what's on that week and give you a tip sheet or guided tour of Sydney clubs &/or warehouse parties. (The latter tend to be small and boutique, btw, not cavernous metal sheds.)
― Billy Bob Thornton in "Slijngaard" (sic), Tuesday, 17 September 2013 13:28 (ten years ago) link
Melbourne was better until everyone there grew beards and started attaching toasted cheese-and-tomato sandwiches to parachutes.
Basically, as advised above, Sydney in February will mean a) going to the beach, b) enjoying a FAP near the water and c) marvelling at the ridiculously sunkissed postcard views.

fap sounds awesome. i'm basically going with my parents, negatives of being single lol. not a huge amount of family will make the trip due to the expense/inconvenience. i'm v close to my cousin who's getting married so i really want to be there.
so any excuse to have a few nights out would be great, awesome and all as my folks are. quite pleased about the idea of getting some hot weather in february - a great time to get out of the uk.
