did you all see the episode where the owner hit on Taffer's wife when she was undercover?

Am watching Marley's on the Beach now (this is the third episode I've seen). The 200 plants have started to complain, as if they had no idea they'd have to wait so long to be served after, like, all 200 of them swarmed the place at once. I'm not sure if it's scripted / nudged along or if the people are only lacking in self-awareness.

I keep trying to look at the labels to see what kind of rum they're using... it's not Captain Morgan, is it?

I haven't seen an episode with a butt funnel yet, and I hope I never do. I did, however, see the episode where he softly crooned "rhubarb bap bap baboo" to the staff. It worked much better than yelling while they were trying to pour drinks they just learned an hour ago four at a time, and overall profits were up 30%. He sounded a little like Sinatra! "Ol' Big Eyes", they call him.

Watched Cliques / 22 Klicks. It's an okay episode despite the OTT military suckup. These shows could be so much better, though. They always seem to ditch too much story in favour of product placement / recaps. In this episode, for some reason Kim went from being a bad manager to a potentially good one, yet zero time was used showing how or why that happened. I know they need to use interview segments to fill in for missing or too-hard-to-edit footage, but it's like making a narrative is not a priority. I think I got spoiled watching UK Kitchen Nightmares, where they seemed to put effort into using the footage they shot. I wonder what the time and budget differences are between doing that style of show and this one.

yeah UK Kitchen Nightmares was a much more lowkey reality show, and iirc they rebuilt the restaurant using low cost measures, including having the staff help refurbish the restaurant? the US versions are much more tabloid-y, and I think you have to enjoy them for that as opposed to being realistic. but yeah, Bar Rescue sometimes has episodes where they show the 'stress test' and it's lousy and suddenly they get to relaunch night and they're fine without explanation. It's usually pretty funny.

OTM. I get sad when I think about how great that show was compared to the - admittedly sometimes enjoyable - shit they show here.

i enjoy bar rescue but yeah it's all bullshit; especially the piratz one which while very entertaining, they've come out and blatantly revealed which parts were fake - namely both the stress test and reopenings were both stuffed with ringers and directions

This Underworld / The End episode seems like they were trying to make up for Piratz / Corporate Bar & Grill.

I didn't finish that one. I find I have to watch the episodes in spurts, as they're getting so formulaic now.

No I don't think so but apparently the expensive free shit isn't quite what it seems. It's out there that the makeover at Piratz Tavern was not what it seemed. The new floor and bar were actually just cosmetic and didn't last much longer than the filming of the launch; the self-serve taps and drinks mixer machines were rentals and had to be paid for by the bar after the first two months. Also, the self-serve thing was actually not legal there so it was useless from the get-go.

Also practically everything about the show was faked. As if that wasn't obvious.

This show is amazingly addictive. Just watched one where Taffer chastised the owners of a biker bar for their shit booze selection: "Big tough guy bikers aren't going to want to drink this!" then not five mins later midlevel diageo exec world renowned mixologist guy is creating the bar's new signature drink with like apricots and hibiscus petals.

Also another one that had a lot of really well endowed bar staff and was next door to a strip club that shared its name. Taffer worried that women weren't going to go, or let their husbands go.

His new bar name, as revealed by the logo on well endowed bar staff's very low cut new uniforms: "racks".

Im Pissed that it didn't air like it was supposed to. I set my DVR to tape and it taped another episode. So what if it aired. Its not like someone from Spike shot the dude. Its life, the show must go on. Stop being a bunch of sissy babies and get over it. Come on Spike let me get this episode.

lol they are rescuing the Copper Rocket, a bar with a douchey owner about 20 minutes from me. my brother is talking about crashing their grand re-opening to get on tv.

After the Piratz Tavern fiasco, with all of the vitriol in social media and the press, it appears that the owners pulled up stakes and moved to Florida. Their new bar is named Bar Refuge.
