Best show on TV in years. And it is all about the characterisation rather than 'the jokes'. Kenny and Stevie are just so amazingly written. The kids baseball prep talk on this season was just incredible.

Kenny Powers: I mean, I guess the only advice I can have is just maybe you should just appreciate what you got.

Even if what you got is a woman that’s built like mashed potatoes.

Just realised I never finished season 3 of this, got 3 episodes from the end and then forgot about it. Watched 6 and 7 from season 3 last night, reaaaally good. As has been noted, the music in this is top notch, "Without You" by Rainbow Arabia and "Heartbreakin' Ball" by Lonnie Walker two relatively recent ones I'd never heard (never heard of the artists either tbh) that are both lovely

^^^ this. I find myself laughing a lot at this show, but there are not really a whole lot of one-liners or standalone jokes to quote

the use of "alive and kicking" at the end of the sports sesh comeback was so good

i can't remember if stevie punched through the window in excitement or in anguish/embarassment

It was excitement. April's "see you later pumpkin" was great too

Feeling pretty confident this has been the best season of the show. Ken Marino is unreal.

Good job me, using my embarrassing "I don't ever plan to post with this" throwaway username. Awesome.

But yeah, the party confrontation struck a perfect balance between being earnestly devastating and funny at the same time. And Ken Marino's meltdown. Such a great show when it wants to be. "Feeeeexins" alone makes this a good deal better than season 3.

I love this show (on the end of S3 right now) and I love Will Ferrell but man does it grind to a halt/go to a bad place when he shows up. he can't even pull off a southern accent. and that episode at his "plantation" was just wtf.

I agree about the plantation episode being maybe a bit too wonky, but by and large I think Ferrell works in this. Ric Flair homages remain enjoyable in all their forms. See also that bit in Workaholics Season 3 after Adam Devine gets smashed in the face with a shovel.

Yes. Well, I can't say that for sure, but it is one of the most WTF episodes of anything I've ever seen.

That's pretty much what I liked about it. It was like Kenny was having a weird fever dream.

I feel like Stevie should be given not just the Emmy but also an Oscar/Tony/Grammy/Clio for his work this season. He's so, so, so good. Up there with Hank Kingsley in the tragic sidekicks Hall of Fame.

Absolutely. I don't know if what the actor will wind up doing after Eastbound but what he's done with that character is just great work.

this ep started off so dark it was almost nauseating. ended on a nice note, tho

mmmmnnn kind of a weak ending for an almost perfect series

i mean some good stuff for sure but still

yeah i lost it during the hoverbike scene

thought the last ep was amazing. incredible montage.

had so much more of an emotional connection with this and far more end of series sadness than for breaking bad. which is a little worrying.

Has he ever played against type? "All the Real Girls" seems like the most "against type" Danny McBride performance and that was like his first movie.

not yet. doesn't really bother me tbh. Feel like Observe & Report role should've been his too.

Yeah I'm fine with him just doing his thing. I can't really imagine him being good at much else. Even at the beginning of the last season of Eastbound where he was the mild-mannered family man, it didn't really work.
