Vince Carter suspended one game by #NBA for elbow to Steven Adams' head

moullet, Friday, 8 November 2013 18:09 (ten years ago) link

can i again point out the diantoni magic is working, some games theyll get blown out and others they will beat teams they have no business beating cause of magical diantoni 3ptrs

lag∞n, Friday, 8 November 2013 18:27 (ten years ago) link

yeah its almost like 3 pointers are good shots to take

Lol this game. Harden gave up like 12 uncontested drives to the hoop tonight.

to harden's credit he never took his eyes off the ball

twist boat veterans for stability (k3vin k.), Friday, 8 November 2013 18:38 (ten years ago) link

carne how do you feel about this Laker team?

― Me & Mahomies (Spottie_Ottie_Dope), Friday, November 8, 2013 12:53 PM

i agree with lagoon. the diantoni magic is working well with this group. Nash in still ancient so if you get anything out of him it's a plus. Pau has a little run left in him and he looks healthy. lol nick young.love Jordan Hill's game and the bench has some athletes.

will Kobe come back and not be a total disruption and ball stopper with limited ability or play more the Grant Hill roll in diantoni's system??? haha yeah right!!

basically they will be fun to watch but struggle to make the playoffs and lose in the first round.

unlike last year where they were miserable to watch, struggled to make the playoffs and lost in the first round.

is there any really good reason for leaving Howard in the game when they start fouling. why not just put Asik in? he can hit enough FTs to make the tactic worthless, and you'd be hard pressed to argue that there's any drop off in defense at all.

like what's the rationale for letting the other team pull such a "stop hitting yourself!" move when you have a perfectly viable alternative lineup?

ryan, Friday, 8 November 2013 19:11 (ten years ago) link

i mean, that's it right?

ryan, Friday, 8 November 2013 19:13 (ten years ago) link

Using that logic, you would leave howard on the bench most of the time, except to give asik short rests.

Aimless, Friday, 8 November 2013 19:14 (ten years ago) link

howard shooting ~60% this year is plenty good to make hacka untenable if he can keep it up

lag∞n, Friday, 8 November 2013 19:16 (ten years ago) link

lmfao that harden gif he looks stoned

lag∞n, Friday, 8 November 2013 19:17 (ten years ago) link

xpost to Aimless: well it's situational. if they wanna rack up fouls in the first 3 quarters then why not let them? in 4th quarter take him out until 2 mins or whenever the cutoff is.

and yeah he's doing ok with FTs. last night was a clusterfuck on several over levels.

ryan, Friday, 8 November 2013 19:18 (ten years ago) link

or maybe he looks like a really old man

lag∞n, Friday, 8 November 2013 19:22 (ten years ago) link

that part at the end when his arms flare out slightly like hes saying oh no whats gonna happen

you know how asik always looks sad? i'm 90% sure this is why. don't make the poor guy shoot free throws late

haha yes this is secretly the best part

twist boat veterans for stability (k3vin k.), Friday, 8 November 2013 19:56 (ten years ago) link

ah he's not great but the Thunder tried this tactic on him during the playoffs and he made most of them. irrc it was, weirdly, during the 3rd quarter.

ryan, Friday, 8 November 2013 19:58 (ten years ago) link

anyway just seems foolhardy to not engineer some sort of response other than "he's gotta make em" especially when you have the personnel to render it moot and hardly sacrifice anything.

ryan, Friday, 8 November 2013 19:59 (ten years ago) link

well idk i mean that foul was with like 2:12 remaining, any intentional foul inside 2 mins is shots + ball anyway

twist boat veterans for stability (k3vin k.), Friday, 8 November 2013 20:02 (ten years ago) link

they passed him the ball on an inbounds play where the lakers had to foul anyway was the really effed up think that happened

lag∞n, Friday, 8 November 2013 20:04 (ten years ago) link

i missed the 2h of that game didn't see that, silly move if so rockets

Why Mike D'Antoni kept Howard in game when teams tried "Hack a Dwight." "Well, we wanted to re-sign him."

haha

Me & Mahomies (Spottie_Ottie_Dope), Friday, 8 November 2013 20:52 (ten years ago) link

I agree with what u say re Lakers this year. I kinda like watching them despite intense hatred for the organization in general. Dantoni was built for systems like this.

Me & Mahomies (Spottie_Ottie_Dope), Friday, 8 November 2013 21:07 (ten years ago) link

I like Hill too
