is there any really good reason for leaving Howard in the game when they start fouling. why not just put Asik in? he can hit enough FTs to make the tactic worthless, and you'd be hard pressed to argue that there's any drop off in defense at all.

like what's the rationale for letting the other team pull such a "stop hitting yourself!" move when you have a perfectly viable alternative lineup?

you know how asik always looks sad? i'm 90% sure this is why. don't make the poor guy shoot free throws late

that part at the end when his arms flare out slightly like hes saying oh no whats gonna happen

haha yes this is secretly the best part

twist boat veterans for stability (k3vin k.), Friday, 8 November 2013 19:56 (ten years ago) link

ah he's not great but the Thunder tried this tactic on him during the playoffs and he made most of them. irrc it was, weirdly, during the 3rd quarter.

ryan, Friday, 8 November 2013 19:58 (ten years ago) link

anyway just seems foolhardy to not engineer some sort of response other than "he's gotta make em" especially when you have the personnel to render it moot and hardly sacrifice anything.

ryan, Friday, 8 November 2013 19:59 (ten years ago) link

well idk i mean that foul was with like 2:12 remaining, any intentional foul inside 2 mins is shots + ball anyway

twist boat veterans for stability (k3vin k.), Friday, 8 November 2013 20:02 (ten years ago) link

they passed him the ball on an inbounds play where the lakers had to foul anyway was the really effed up think that happened

Why Mike D'Antoni kept Howard in game when teams tried "Hack a Dwight." "Well, we wanted to re-sign him."

haha

I agree with what u say re Lakers this year. I kinda like watching them despite intense hatred for the organization in general. Dantoni was built for systems like this.

Pachulia has to buy the floor from the Bradley Center Sports and Entertainment Corporation, not the Bucks, and the two sides are still talking. But everyone is optimistic the floor will end up in Pachulia's Georgia. Pachulia will allow only cautious optimism, because he tried to work the same deal with the Hawks when Atlanta changed floors a few years ago, only to see things fall through in the end, he says. As soon as he heard the Bucks would switch floors, he asked ownership and his own team of advisers if it might be possible to try again.

"This is my dream," Pachulia says. "I want to make this happen. It would be really exciting for me, and for the kids in Georgia, to have a chance to play on an NBA floor. So many superstars have played on that court, from the Bucks and other teams."

*BREAKING* celtics veterans are hazing kelly olynyk!!

And just minutes after helping the Celtics to their second consecutive triumph, Olynyk headed out of the shower and heard the loud voice of a teammate still washing up. The veteran needed a towel and it was the rookie’s responsibility to make sure he was layered with them as he exited the shower.

There were no pats on the back, fist bumps, or handshakes. Olynyk was back to his rookie status, which included taking Rajon Rondo’s personal bag to the team bus. Olynyk’s rookie experience has been action-packed so far. He has played at least 22 minutes in each of the last four games.
