If Roy Hibbert doesn't do it, how can it be good? [buys bitcoins]

feel like there's gotta be something going on with asik beyond match ups. mchale playing a frontline of francisco garcia, omar casspi and terrence jones seems insane

this was way upthread but i dont think it was addressed. apparently Asik asked for a trade again. think mchale is a little upset at his effort coming off bench.

funny thing is rockets are a terrific small ball team (as they were last year). dwight has been ok defensively but a non-factor on offense. he hasnt really delivered on being any kind of low-post offensive threat but he does seem to draw double teams still and passes out of it well--but the team is shooting 3s at an awful rate and id wager that, even more than the defense (it was this bad last year), is the big problem right now.

ryan, Friday, 15 November 2013 15:55 (ten years ago) link

Lin is the literally the only one of the team hitting 3s

ryan, Friday, 15 November 2013 15:56 (ten years ago) link

huh didn't hear about the trade request

twist boat veterans for stability (k3vin k.), Friday, 15 November 2013 15:58 (ten years ago) link

yeah dwight was a nightmare on offense last night but i thought he had a really good run at the end of the game on D

le goon (J0rdan S.), Friday, 15 November 2013 16:03 (ten years ago) link

but i mean it did work against the knicks because they have no low post scorer... melo was getting to the hoop but houston had decent success bringing help and forcing him to throw some wacky shot off the rim

so maybe it was a match ups thing

this windhorst story seems pertinent

iggy is awesome, i told y'all that was a great move by them

le goon (J0rdan S.), Friday, 15 November 2013 17:24 (ten years ago) link

its really the perfect fit

lag∞n, Friday, 15 November 2013 17:24 (ten years ago) link

btw jarett jack is shooting 38% from the field this year w/ an A/TO ratio of 3/2

le goon (J0rdan S.), Friday, 15 November 2013 17:26 (ten years ago) link

watching the game last night i do see how not having a real back up PG hurts ball movement when steph is out but they have enough individual talent to stay afloat

le goon (J0rdan S.), Friday, 15 November 2013 17:27 (ten years ago) link

i think the warriors' front office's decision to sacrifice depth in order to beef up their top 6 for when the playoffs rolls around was a very smart one

le goon (J0rdan S.), Friday, 15 November 2013 17:28 (ten years ago) link

yeah it makes injuries more dangerous but seems like a fair risk

lag∞n, Friday, 15 November 2013 17:30 (ten years ago) link

yeah i mean it's a gamble because of health problems of various players, but it raises their ceiling for sure

twist boat veterans for stability (k3vin k.), Friday, 15 November 2013 17:30 (ten years ago) link

xp

twist boat veterans for stability (k3vin k.), Friday, 15 November 2013 17:30 (ten years ago) link

They have one in Douglas but he's out for two weeks. He's been good in his minutes, too. Good D and shooting the 3 well.

Thing is with the top 6 they are super strong but any of those other bench guys (Douglas, Draymond, J Oneal, Speights) are all capable.

I think we all knew Jack's last year was the best he would ever have. I wanted him back but the price was too high, good job by the Dubs mngmnt on that one.

Spottie, Friday, 15 November 2013 17:42 (ten years ago) link

They still haven't fully figured out how to integrate Barnes either. I think this team will get better as the year goes ((as long as they're healthy (gonna stop using that qualifier now)).

Spottie, Friday, 15 November 2013 17:44 (ten years ago) link

That's some kinda bro love xp

Spottie, Friday, 15 November 2013 17:44 (ten years ago) link

yeah he's been pretty good.

Spottie, Friday, 15 November 2013 18:02 (ten years ago) link

i like speights who shoots every time

lag∞n, Friday, 15 November 2013 18:03 (ten years ago) link

they should let odom sign with both teams and only play home games.

Spottie, Friday, 15 November 2013 18:03 (ten years ago) link

literally every time. I've counted three passes this year no joke.

Spottie, Friday, 15 November 2013 18:03 (ten years ago) link

somehow iggy got @andre on twitter

Spottie, Friday, 15 November 2013 18:06 (ten years ago) link

I know he won't keep up these insane numbers but Reggie otm last night that Iggy can just play free and has no pressure at all. He's like the 4th option on the floor sometimes and he's totally at home in that position.

Spottie, Friday, 15 November 2013 18:08 (ten years ago) link

also sincere apologies ILH for typing the words "Reggie otm"

Spottie, Friday, 15 November 2013 18:08 (ten years ago) link

When the Warriors get Ezeli back they're going to be pretty deep imo.

Is Carl Landry still alive?

polyphonic, Friday, 15 November 2013 18:09 (ten years ago) link

*unclicks flag post*

乒乓, Friday, 15 November 2013 18:09 (ten years ago) link

haha

Spottie, Friday, 15 November 2013 18:11 (ten years ago) link

landry got moved and then tore his hip out 3-4 months

Spottie, Friday, 15 November 2013 18:12 (ten years ago) link

so the dubs got the landry/jack thing right kudos

Spottie, Friday, 15 November 2013 18:13 (ten years ago) link

conclusion that the knicks didn't deserve lin is otm

twist boat veterans for stability (k3vin k.), Friday, 15 November 2013 18:32 (ten years ago) link

yeah I'm glad he got w Houston.

Spottie, Friday, 15 November 2013 18:48 (ten years ago) link

i have to imagine he is, too.

the idea of being a global icon prob sounds alluring but making $30m and being a "normal" star athlete doesn't sound too bad

le goon (J0rdan S.), Friday, 15 November 2013 18:57 (ten years ago) link

thing is he's still a global icon, and china already freaking loved the rockets because of yao. perfect sitch for him

twist boat veterans for stability (k3vin k.), Friday, 15 November 2013 19:02 (ten years ago) link

right but obv it would be blown up x1000 if he had stayed in nyc

he seems like the type of person who would enjoy a more private life

le goon (J0rdan S.), Friday, 15 November 2013 19:08 (ten years ago) link

some people I know do look at Lin like a traitor, but he did make the right move. and let's face it, he wasn't gonna shine under Melo's politics
