watching knicks fans meltdown on twitter is pretty amazing, i have no idea how their fanbase continues to believe in this team year after year, these super hardened cynical savvy people from this worldly city turn totally credulous on this one topic

it's almost endearing

how you could look at the team they've assembled and think it was doing anything more than scraping mediocrity is a thing i will never understand

they are the most irrationally optimistic people i just dont get it, they shd be mired in loathing and fatalism but every year there they are talking themselves into it

yeah i started following all these peripheral netw3rk friends a few years ago, they're def all hilarious but they all seem to be lacking...perspective on what exactly the talent level of their team is

Knicks fans are super interesting, the general level of basketball knowledge in NYC is ultra high but then there's this gigantic blind spot for the Knicks with their fans, ppl really still believe Carmelo is the second or third best player in the league

One morning this summer though I overheard two kids on subway to day camp debating whether Russell's ten rings count for more or less than Jordan's six because if expansion, rule changes, the three point line, etc. these kids were def no older than 10-11 or so

Perhaps it will get dragged to the top of the ratings twice by a better developed sitcom while the showrunner lags behind to argue with the executives

Heh, last night in the 1st half of the Knicks/Pistons game, iirc Melo had the following offensive possession sequence over three minutes, elegant in it's awfulness:

0-2 FT trip

Also maybe about time for a FT intervention with Andre Drummond now that he's hitting rock bottom. Cruel to watch someone play with so much intensity and then just melt down at the FT line. He shot 1-5 last night and his season FT % improved!

I haven't watched the Knicks since Tyson got injured. Paul George just willed himself to two buckets and then they gave up back to back transition threes by hill and Watson. I don't think defense is their forte

they were playing remarkably well for how terrible defenders they are!
