if i had to guess he's out til the playoffs

k3vin k., Saturday, 23 November 2013 22:33 (ten years ago) link

forgive me if this is a stupid question: right now toronto (0.462) are above chicago (0.545) in the standings. why is this? is there something else used to rank teams other than pct? this is something i've noticed a few times in the past.

Meniscus ain't a death sentence. Depends on the severity I guess tho

Spottie, Saturday, 23 November 2013 22:42 (ten years ago) link

I've done it (partial tear), kinda weird feeling. Kept playing after and played on it for another 6 months before surgery. Would get random shots of pain just sitting at my desk and shifting positions.

Spottie, Saturday, 23 November 2013 22:57 (ten years ago) link

kevin is correct

from what i hear rose tore the medial meniscus, which from what i understand is a less severe injury than if he'd torn the lateral meniscus. not sure how long it would take him to recover, they'd probably treat him with kid gloves once again. was this the same injury as westbrook?

wow cousins grabs thomas and doesn't let him shake hands with paul

k3vin k., Saturday, 23 November 2013 23:20 (ten years ago) link

Who will have the best record at the end of the year: Boston, Brooklyn, or New York?

polyphonic, Saturday, 23 November 2013 23:41 (ten years ago) link

atlanta is the third best team in the east now.

Heez, Saturday, 23 November 2013 23:43 (ten years ago) link

http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/nba-ball-dont-lie/derrick-rose-tears-medial-meniscus-knee-surgery-indefinitely-225500488--nba.html

Rose will need surgery, but the injury is not unlike the one suffered by Oklahoma City’s Russell Westbrook during last year’s playoffs. Westbrook tore the lateral meniscus in his left knee and later needed cleanup surgery, but he appears no worse for wear during his particular comeback. Chicago won’t know if Rose will be out for the season until the surgery is performed, but there is a sound chance he could return this season.

This was ridiculous, boogie is a bad sport in addition to barely caring about defense

z-time champion (agent hibachi), Sunday, 24 November 2013 01:23 (ten years ago) link

even when dwight does something right he still looks like a guy who never learned a thing about playing offense

Clay, Sunday, 24 November 2013 01:27 (ten years ago) link

kevin love to brewer 70-foot pass alert

k3vin k., Sunday, 24 November 2013 01:29 (ten years ago) link

brewer's layup got swatted by parsons, though (tho it hit backboard first and shoulda been a goal tend)

This Rockets Minny game is so sloppy.

polyphonic, Sunday, 24 November 2013 02:02 (ten years ago) link

did not realize MCW was already 22

k3vin k., Sunday, 24 November 2013 02:14 (ten years ago) link

wade looks fantastic, he should just play every third game

k3vin k., Sunday, 24 November 2013 02:23 (ten years ago) link

ha, well, that might be exactly what ends up happening

Clay, Sunday, 24 November 2013 02:32 (ten years ago) link

Honestly, strategically handing out DNP-OLDs every four or five games probably helps more than limiting minutes throughout the season. Bosh and Bron are enough to fall back on if/when they did decide to start resting him, too. He's been so hit-or-miss for the last few seasons, but he can still have a jaw-dropping quarter here or there.

Love Brett Brown on the sidelines btw.

Call me Shitmael (CompuPost), Sunday, 24 November 2013 02:37 (ten years ago) link

Some of Rubio's outside shots are so damn ugly
