he had a good line tonight but he still shoots just about every single time he touches the ball. he just takes a bunch of terrible shots.

le goon (J0rdan S.), Thursday, 28 November 2013 03:20 (ten years ago) link

he's a good regular season player for them though since he has talent and is playing hard but i don't think he'll see a single minute after the first round of the playoffs

le goon (J0rdan S.), Thursday, 28 November 2013 03:20 (ten years ago) link

spo played him in crunch time tonight and he looked good!

Haralabos Voulgaris ‏@haralabob
The best part about that Kidd cola incident he’s not even the one drawing up the play. He’s just a drink spiller.

Woww Kidd

乒乓, Thursday, 28 November 2013 03:55 (ten years ago) link

i like how he stands around in the mess after hindering the clean up

lag∞n, Thursday, 28 November 2013 03:58 (ten years ago) link

is he gonna get fined for that

call all destroyer, Thursday, 28 November 2013 04:10 (ten years ago) link

has to i'd think

k3vin k., Thursday, 28 November 2013 04:12 (ten years ago) link

by far the best move he's made as coach?

le goon (J0rdan S.), Thursday, 28 November 2013 04:13 (ten years ago) link

Hope he didn't get any soda onto that fancy suit

乒乓, Thursday, 28 November 2013 04:15 (ten years ago) link

unfortunate that he broke this move out in his 15th game as a coach, which he lost.

Just anothe question: What do you think odds are that neither Love nor Pek are on this team this time next year?

moullet, Thursday, 28 November 2013 04:48 (ten years ago) link

Chris Herring ‏@HerringWSJ 2m

Before tonight, the Melo, Stoudemire, Bargnani trio was surrendering 128.7 pts per 100 plays. Was getting outscored by 35 pts per 100 plays.

very very low?

le goon (J0rdan S.), Thursday, 28 November 2013 07:02 (ten years ago) link

am i the only one that think it's impressive that tyshawn taylor actually understood what kidd meant? like, if i was him and kidd had said "hit me" i would've stopped in my tracks like "....what?"

is this something that they practiced??

le goon (J0rdan S.), Thursday, 28 November 2013 07:03 (ten years ago) link

also i wonder if the vets on the team think this is kind of cunning or if they think it's depressingly desperate

le goon (J0rdan S.), Thursday, 28 November 2013 07:04 (ten years ago) link

Matt Armstrong, Thursday, 28 November 2013 07:05 (ten years ago) link

half of me thinks we'll look back on this as a stupid controversy a la when lebron shoulder checked spoelstra in the first season of the big 3, but i guess that's predicated on the nets turning it around very soon

le goon (J0rdan S.), Thursday, 28 November 2013 07:06 (ten years ago) link

so the nets are 4-11 right now

their next two games are @ houston, @ memphis

anyone think they can win either? if they go to 4-13 then they have denver at home. winnable game for sure but denver has really picked it up.

if they lose that they're 4-14 with the knicks coming into BK

if they lose that is there any way that kidd makes it out of there alive?

le goon (J0rdan S.), Thursday, 28 November 2013 07:10 (ten years ago) link

feel like they gotta steal one of those games for him to keep his job

if they can manage to beat the knicks it will prob take some heat off him locally cuz the knicks are about to have as bad a record

le goon (J0rdan S.), Thursday, 28 November 2013 07:11 (ten years ago) link

matter of fact when does jason kidd get fired?

le goon (J0rdan S.), Thursday, 28 November 2013 07:16 (ten years ago) link

they can beat memphis, yeah. Memphis without Gasol looks pretty rough so far.

Matt Armstrong, Thursday, 28 November 2013 07:20 (ten years ago) link

forgot about that.

then again brooklyn has won literally three games so \(o_O)/

le goon (J0rdan S.), Thursday, 28 November 2013 07:22 (ten years ago) link

I mean hell they managed to beat the Suns who apparently are a playoff team, black is white, cats living with dogs etc.

Matt Armstrong, Thursday, 28 November 2013 07:23 (ten years ago) link

I still think the Knicks have a much higher chance of missing the playoffs than the Nets, but Kidd's antics make me wonder

Matt Armstrong, Thursday, 28 November 2013 07:24 (ten years ago) link

yeah well the nets are at least missing their two best players

le goon (J0rdan S.), Thursday, 28 November 2013 07:26 (ten years ago) link

i think both are still essentially locks to make the playoffs

i'm not sure there are 8 teams in the east that are even trying to make the playoffs

le goon (J0rdan S.), Thursday, 28 November 2013 07:28 (ten years ago) link

let's break it down to an extent

Matt Armstrong, Thursday, 28 November 2013 07:32 (ten years ago) link

15 teams in the east

2 teams are 100% locks

miami heat
indiana pacers

1 team is a 98% lock

chicago bulls

3 teams have zero chance and/or are openly tanking

milwaukee bucks
boston celtics
philadelphia 76ers

2 teams are probably in that group but might actually be kinda good

orlando magic
charlotte bobcats

so we're left with 7 teams for 5 spots (assuming heat, pacers, bulls)

atlanta hawks
toronto raptors
washington wizards
cleveland cavaliers
new york knicks
brooklyn nets
detroit pistons

who ya got?

le goon (J0rdan S.), Thursday, 28 November 2013 07:36 (ten years ago) link

out of that group i like

atl, wash, det, bk, nyk

i think the cavs are garbage and that masai will break apart the raptors

le goon (J0rdan S.), Thursday, 28 November 2013 07:37 (ten years ago) link

in the tank: obviously doomed: Cleveland, Milwaukee
scrappy overachievers that can't possibly last: Boston, Philly, maybe Charlotte ('Cats definitely trying to make the playoffs though)
weird but talented teams that are trying to be good and might manage it: Pistons, Raptors, Orlando
teams coached by Thibodeau: the Bulls
realistic playoff teams: Indiana, Miami, Atlanta, Washington

I think it's possible that 7 of the teams from those last three groups make it.

Matt Armstrong, Thursday, 28 November 2013 07:38 (ten years ago) link

now that Oladipo is going beast mode I really think the Magic are in the mix.

Matt Armstrong, Thursday, 28 November 2013 07:40 (ten years ago) link

I'm sure that Masai is trying to get rid of Gay but that might make the playoffs more possible

Matt Armstrong, Thursday, 28 November 2013 07:42 (ten years ago) link

derozen has been killing it, I wouldn't totally sleep on the raps

Clay, Thursday, 28 November 2013 07:42 (ten years ago) link

the cavs seem desperate to shed waiters and get a SF, maybe masai can rope them into taking rudy

le goon (J0rdan S.), Thursday, 28 November 2013 07:44 (ten years ago) link

Rudy is not what kyrie needs right now but Cleveland's management seems incompetent enough

Clay, Thursday, 28 November 2013 07:48 (ten years ago) link

apparently they are trying to do... this

The Cleveland Cavaliers are actively shopping second-year shooting guard Dion Waiters, according to sources with knowledge of the situation.

Three teams the Cavaliers are known to have spoken with are the New York Knicks, Chicago Bulls and Philadelphia 76ers, the sources said. The Cavs' targets are Iman Shumpert in New York, Evan Turner in Philadelphia and Luol Deng in Chicago, sources said.

le goon (J0rdan S.), Thursday, 28 November 2013 07:50 (ten years ago) link

Shumpert was borderline invisible out there tonight btw

Matt Armstrong, Thursday, 28 November 2013 08:09 (ten years ago) link

hahahaha
