The stats.nba interactive box score thing is cool but a 15 second ad between each shot attempt is def gonna keep me from using it.

According to @ESPNStatsInfo Knicks have lost 7 straight home games, matching their worst single-season home losing streak in team history

during those bosh threes they kept flipping back to beasley on the bench, who was losing his mind

seems like he's enjoying himself a lot this year which is (super) cool

le goon (J0rdan S.), Monday, 2 December 2013 06:33 (ten years ago) link

He's enjoyed himself plenty

Spottie, Monday, 2 December 2013 06:46 (ten years ago) link

lol, paul pierce is out 2-4 weeks

k3vin k., Monday, 2 December 2013 18:31 (ten years ago) link

Giannis is so incredibly fun to watch in person. I think he could definitely be a star. I mean at this point I'm just hoping for a top 5 draft pick but this team could be pretty damn cool 1-2 years down the road

frogbs, Monday, 2 December 2013 19:58 (ten years ago) link

five weeks into the season wes matthews' true shooting % is 70.5 what the hell

Clay, Monday, 2 December 2013 20:19 (ten years ago) link

people are not supposed to shoot that well

I wonder if Ryan Anderson has made a leap as a shooter this year. Really lighting it up so far.

Matt Armstrong, Tuesday, 3 December 2013 01:13 (ten years ago) link

he's been pretty nuts for a while, i've said he's a max guy for years

k3vin k., Tuesday, 3 December 2013 01:20 (ten years ago) link

he is lighting it up so far this year wow

lag∞n, Tuesday, 3 December 2013 01:23 (ten years ago) link

the thing abt anderson is hes not just some big guy who can shoot for % from distance, he gets a ton of quality looks, he has a really fast release and knows how to get open, hes a much more valuable shooter than yr standard already valuable 40% shooting power forward, and now that hes shooting %50+ from three holy shit, i mean its majorly doubtful hell keep it up at that rate but still

lag∞n, Tuesday, 3 December 2013 01:30 (ten years ago) link

tuff day for rudy

Has anyone heard/watched Raptors home broadcast team do a game? My god the one color analyst (think there are 2, a white guy and a black guy. talking bout the white guy here) was absolutely brutal wrt Rudy the one game I caught. Really going out of his way to criticize Rudy. I've never witnessed a home team broadcaster just continually tear into a guy like that, over and over...

the guy takes almost 8 threes a game and is hitting over half of them. even at his career average rate, just under 39%, that is hugely, hugely valuable. i was laughing at some of the trades people were kicking around, like the idea that NO would trade him for asik straight up is just absurd

k3vin k., Tuesday, 3 December 2013 01:36 (ten years ago) link

idk asik has a pretty valuable elite skill too

lag∞n, Tuesday, 3 December 2013 01:37 (ten years ago) link

but he's a zero on offense and even if he were anderson's equal overall, which he ain't, why would you break up anderson-davis which is looking like they're going to start dominating the league any time now

k3vin k., Tuesday, 3 December 2013 01:38 (ten years ago) link

i wouldnt break them up cause theyre a good fit, but andersen is pretty one dimensional too, those guys are one dimensional at maybe the two most acceptable things to be one dimensional at shooting and interior D

lag∞n, Tuesday, 3 December 2013 01:40 (ten years ago) link

anderson also rebounds like a monster

k3vin k., Tuesday, 3 December 2013 01:41 (ten years ago) link

a monster what lol burn

lag∞n, Tuesday, 3 December 2013 01:42 (ten years ago) link

asik is a good rebounder

eh not really man

Matt Armstrong, Tuesday, 3 December 2013 01:43 (ten years ago) link

his rebounding numbers are down a little this year but i'll bet they'll...rebound, even still his offensive boards, the more important ones, haven't dipped nearly as much

k3vin k., Tuesday, 3 December 2013 01:44 (ten years ago) link

his career TRB% is 110th among active players, let's just keep things in perspective a lil'

Matt Armstrong, Tuesday, 3 December 2013 01:48 (ten years ago) link

he's got a nice 9-0-0-0-0 going tonight btw

Matt Armstrong, Tuesday, 3 December 2013 01:48 (ten years ago) link

I thought ryanderson was just shooting the lights out bc Bargnani was pretending to guard him last night and it was the first time I've seen him play this year but he has indeed been killing it

Whatever the merits of Asik the idea that teams should be falling all over themselves to package up their first or second best players so Dwight can have a shot at the western finals is hilarious

z-time champion (agent hibachi), Tuesday, 3 December 2013 01:53 (ten years ago) link

Holy shit that Wes Matthews shot chart

The two weak areas he has only taken five and three shots in respectively

Wtf is going on there in pdx

z-time champion (agent hibachi), Tuesday, 3 December 2013 01:54 (ten years ago) link

how good people can shoot now compared with like ten years ago is really crazy

lag∞n, Tuesday, 3 December 2013 01:56 (ten years ago) link

So what you're all saying is this guy Anderson is almost as good as Klay Thompson

乒乓, Tuesday, 3 December 2013 01:57 (ten years ago) link

my theory is its because they came of age w the college three point line on every court tempting them xp

lag∞n, Tuesday, 3 December 2013 01:57 (ten years ago) link

yeah it's funny when people say players can't shoot like they used to because that's obviously false

i was thinking the other day how it's kind of difficult to compare players across eras because players these days are just so much more efficient, like even after the 3 pointer was introduced no one really used it for a while

k3vin k., Tuesday, 3 December 2013 01:59 (ten years ago) link

Yeah could be that once stats dudes realized the true value of the 3 they started looking for guys who could really bomb it from deep and it's now okay to be purely a 3 specialist

乒乓, Tuesday, 3 December 2013 02:00 (ten years ago) link

the nba now is basically the imaginary past purists were pining for all those years, great shooting, tons of ball movement, high intensisty defense, no one with cornrows

lag∞n, Tuesday, 3 December 2013 02:01 (ten years ago) link

the other day i was wondering what kinda role allen iverson would have in today's league if he came into it recently, like would he still be AI or what

Clay, Tuesday, 3 December 2013 02:02 (ten years ago) link

Hah the stats dudes told udonis to stop it with the cornrows. Makes sense
