Already played this game enough on 360 that I won't be getting it for PS3, but I will say that playing the single player "to get ready" is sorta pointless, forks. You can play it that way but it doesn't make things easier. There are a few battles where it helped me to do on my own to understand how to do them well, but they were pretty late in the game, and mostly those were just due to my patheticness at shooting games. Ideally you have a team that is all roughly the same level so you're all facing the same challenge level. Overpowered guys take the fun out of the multiplayer game.

While playing GTA5 last night, PS3 crashed and red light started blinking - is this the same thing as YLOD?
In which case, maybe you guys could advise on what to do - buying a new PS3 seems a bit stupid now that a new system is out - OTOH I'd be pretty upset to lose all my PS3 games, esp barely started GTA5 and Skyrim.
So what should I do? Buy a used PS3 on the cheap? Would it then be possible for me to install my old HDD int ot?

I am not sure but I think swapping out a hard drive will automatically trigger a reformat? I'd look that up before trying it.

go for the cheap ps3. this is the best time to buy one, you can probably still get a brand new one w/Arkham Origins/The Last of Us for $200 (the BF bundle) if you look around - even if you own them already, you can sell them easily and cut down your cost

ps+ games can be dl'd anytime that you want as long as you're still a subscriber. ps store buys are always available period.

or until anonymous crashes their servers again at least.

the caveat with the ps+ games: if you didn't dl it when it was available, you can't get it now... so dl EVERYTHING every time, including vita/psp games in case you ever get the system. won't let you dl ps4 content unless you have the system :(

you don't really need to dl every ps+ game, just "buy" them when they are available. you can also "buy" ps4 games via the webstore without having to own the console!

ok back to my YLOD problem - seems SONY will exchange mine for a new PS3 for 105 EUR. Seems like a good deal, now I just need to figure out how to clone my HDD

yeah, you can "purchase" a game via PS+, it goes into your purchase history, you can download it whenever.

in fact, you can purchase through the digital website without even turning on your PS3, which is what I do most of the time

Yeah, I expect this is going to go the same way vita did for me, I'll get to the point where I've got so many games already that not buying the console seems like a waste.

me too. The demo was interesting, and it's pretty.

There is a part in Brothers (360 version) about halfway through that I got stuck on. I looked up the solution and it seems like the game actually was broken. I did exactly the same thing and the animation that allows you to get the key never happened. Really frustrating because I was enjoying the game a lot up to that point.

Likewise, never got round to buying brothers (as I was moving house and my xbox was packed), so I'll gladly take it for free on ps+!

Finally did my usual "wait until Playstation (x) comes out and buy Playstation (x-1)" thing a couple weekends ago. And then signed up for a year of PS+ on recommendations here. Whuh oh. So far, I have GTA IV, Ni No Kuni, the Ico/SotC two-pack, and Unfinished Swan, with Katamari Forever and Journey/Flower/Flow on the way. And a bunch of PS+ downloads. I'm loving everything so far (kinda waiting on Ni No Kuni, which my GF says she wants to play, which means she wants to play it for five minutes and then just watch me play). Brothers makes the hemispheres of my brain feel like they're pulling themselves apart in a good way. Never played anything like that before so I have no idea if that style of gaming is old hat by now or what. Oh, and I also kinda off-handedly bought Skyrim (having not played a console RPG since probably FFVII) and I am freaking addicted. Guess I might get a couple of the FF games while there's still a deep discount.

I wanna dig deeper and see what's out there after years of ignorance, but I'm already all "Bye bye, time," so it probably wouldn't hurt to just chill with this stuff for the time being.
