Garbage Bloomberg-era nu-new yorker here, your Knicks team has been trash for 10+ years, sorry you're stuck rooting for them. And watching a volume-shooting Melo struggle is classically beautiful, like a Roman triumphal arch or Ava Gardner.

2 get chill again, please enjoy this Giannis blog for some Greek website:
Hi everyone,It's been some time since my first post in my blog here in NBA Greece. During this time a lot has happened. But I would like to distinguish two moments. Playing against LeBron James and the Miami Heat champions, and against my idol, Kevin Durant of Oklahoma City Thunder....Until of course the next day and the game vs the Thunder. I have said many times that Durant is my idol. He is the player I watch the most. When I came out on the court for a workout, he was already there, shooting. Working. I stopped and watched him. He was deadly serious. I could see it in his face. He was not relaxed. He was warming up with tension. I felt a satisfaction, when I saw my idol, approaching basketball with such determination....Here in Milwaukee, and where Thanassis is, is very cold. But I'm used to it now. Like snow. It doesn't surprise me anymore. But it was a terrible temperature difference when we went to play in Miami. We left from a snowy Milwaukee and we found summer in Miami. I liked Miami. Along with Chicago, they are the two most beautiful cities I've visited so far.It is also incredible that, in every court I've played, up to now, there are always Greeks there to talk to me before or after the game. I see Greek flags and that makes me very proud. And one last thing. These days I'm finishing my driver's lessons and I will take a driving test for the license. So wish me luck!Be well and watch the Bucks!Giannis.

Be well and watch the Bucks, ILH. Really <3 that Durant is his favorite players. Personally kinda think Bucks should be D-Leaguing him right now since he's so gd young and to spend some time working on defense against non-superhuman bballers.

xp haha interest piqued, searched around for the Mozblog :))))
By the way, here’s what I want to note separately. Finally – in my third NBA season – I got to face Howard on the court!:))) Well, it’s clear why they call this strong, aggressive and quick guy the best center there is. He is gifted with all these qualities in abundance. Actually, you already know his strongest traits.Of course, he did his thing great against us. Let’s call things by their names: he buried us. Though, despite all that, there were some moments where you could realize that even “superman” is human. He, too, can be not perfect, he can feel the pain and it’s possible to compete with him.

He's not wrong
Also I assume frank is covered under the kg fierce loyalty umbrella from the year he was an asst with the celtics
Kidd just seems so far in over his head that it's impossible to tell if here ever could be a good coach, but he's definitely flailing at a historical level- I've never heard of anything like demoting an assistant as a way to gain control if a team. Maybe it's happened but it was probably way more quiet than this
― z-time champion (agent hibachi), Saturday, 7 December 2013 19:19 (ten years ago) link
seems like itd be a good idea to get a couple seasons as an assistant under yr belt first tho i guess there have been successes doc rivers not sure who else
― lag∞n, Saturday, 7 December 2013 19:22 (ten years ago) link
also it's kinda weird bc kg and pierce are m/l Kidd's peers, like who wants the dude from a couple doors down bossing them around all of a sudden
― Clay, Saturday, 7 December 2013 19:43 (ten years ago) link
pierce and kidd were pretty intense rivals for a while too
― lag∞n, Saturday, 7 December 2013 19:48 (ten years ago) link
Kidd probably is in way over his head, but there are so many awful angles to this Nets team. If they had any sustained health, I think they'd be doing just fine-- Pierce and Garnett usage% would be down where they'd assumed it'd be, 2nd team would be one of the best in the league, and Williams would help Pierce/Johnson/Garnett/Lopez find much easier shots. They've already started 10 different players multiple games; w/o checking, I'd guess that's tops in the league. Considering that one of their strengths going into the season was their depth from 1-9, it would've been tough to find a scenario where, 20 games in, Tyshawn Taylor and Alan Anderson had both started multiple games. Zero continuity for a team w/ a ton of new faces, of course it's a total shitshow. Not to mention that, w/ all the injuries, you're now overexerting your Olds, which now burns them out faster and makes it less likely that they'll be ready for playoff bball.
But if you build such a creaky ass team and just kinda xfingers that no one gets injured or misses a ton of games, here we are. If they can find some way to prioritize player health over everything else, they can totally finish this season strongly -> have a decent shot in the playoffs.

Bird, too. Mark Jackson, McHale, Isiah, and VDN too, I think? The severe lack in continuity is probably exacerbating Kidd's meltdown more than anything-- think you need a few years on a bench learning how to deal w/ shitty variables like injuries / juggling player egos / etc.
This is kinda like Mark Jackson's first year, too. High hopes entering the season -> bad injuries to key players -> POLL: JAX FIRED B4 XMAS?
― Call me Shitmael (CompuPost), Saturday, 7 December 2013 21:03 (ten years ago) link
Jackson didn't - look - lost tho. And expectations we're make the playoffs not contend for it all.

It's true that their expectations weren't as high as the Nets' expectations this year.
But w/r/t parallels, that Warriors team was supposed to feature Ellis/Lee/Curry/Thompson/Nate Robinson/Rush, so it's not like they expected a flounderfest. Instead, Dorell Wright and David Lee were basically the only players to start a majority of their games; and, that's kinda where the Nets are headed right now. And now that things are running smoothly for GSW, I think it's easy to forget that everyone was piling on Jax those first few months for being a hilariously overmatched coach.
I think the big diff is that it was a predominantly young team, so it was kinda As Jax Learns, So Do the Youngs. Since the Nets wanted to contend for a title AND have a vanilla coach, they went the opposite route: surround him with vets so Kidd/staff had more latitude for error / wouldn't have to spend practice/gametime on rudimentary stuff.
But like, all of this said, Kidd does look totally overmatched right now, visibly; I just think it's not out of the question for him to turn it around, provided he has a half-decent team to coach. The cup spill + Frank stuff + awful record is tough to ignore, though.
Hahaha xps, fwiw a quick internet search on current NBA atheists brought up:
