Matt Armstrong, Tuesday, 31 December 2013 05:15 (ten years ago) link

The Clippers got booed literally 90 seconds into this game btw

Matt Armstrong, Tuesday, 31 December 2013 05:18 (ten years ago) link

was just gonna say I'm barely at half-time and he has like 5 highlights already, just carving out whatever he wants xp

Spottie, Tuesday, 31 December 2013 05:18 (ten years ago) link

Spottie, Tuesday, 31 December 2013 05:18 (ten years ago) link

Spottie, Tuesday, 31 December 2013 05:19 (ten years ago) link

super cool iced the game tonight with a 3 with 30 seconds left B-)

le goon (J0rdan S.), Tuesday, 31 December 2013 05:20 (ten years ago) link

@billsimmons
If we're talking MVP candidates, the difference between LBJ/KD + everyone else is that LBJ/KD don't ever take nights off (like CP3 tonight).

this is BS tho, bron sleepwalks through games all the time these days, and paul's not taking tonight off, he's just not playing well. their game score distributions are almost identical

NB obv lebron is much better and should be MVP

k3vin k., Tuesday, 31 December 2013 05:25 (ten years ago) link

so many highlights in this suns game

Spottie, Tuesday, 31 December 2013 05:29 (ten years ago) link

and just pure comedy watching blake all night in the post

Spottie, Tuesday, 31 December 2013 05:31 (ten years ago) link

bron sleepwalks through quarters not often thru games tho

i think the more accurate point is that bron is so good that he can sleepwalk through a game and still put up numbers that dwarf everyone in the NBA

le goon (J0rdan S.), Tuesday, 31 December 2013 05:37 (ten years ago) link

not taking nights off is overrated, there are so many nba games

lag∞n, Tuesday, 31 December 2013 05:39 (ten years ago) link

Cool to see some Rubio thinkpieces start to trickle out, and happy that the Goldsberry piece hammers home the fact that Rubio's J is mediocre but not atrocious / real problem is around the rim. Reminds me of Rondo 3-4 years ago, when it seemed like the league all at once decided to start giving him +5 feet of space for any shots outside the lane. There was a month where it seemed like it was massively fucking with his head / would pass up the wide open shots and drive anyway (and finish because, unlike Rubio, Rondo is an A+ finisher). iirc Rondo started taking and making enough of those jumpers where defenders started playing him honestly again.

What sucks more is that finishing at the rim seems less ... practicable? The work involved with improving your jumpshot is basically the muscle memory of thousands and thousands of jump shots, tighting form, etc. Like maybe Rubio can bulk up a bit so he can use his body to clear out a bit of space for himself down there, or like I think Goldsberry mentioned develop a Jax teardrop from 4-8ft rather than bungling layups. idk just want lil Ricky to change face, have fun, enjoy.

the thing w rubio and rondo being dece jump shooters isnt really true, just no one guards them, which makes getting high % harder

lag∞n, Tuesday, 31 December 2013 15:33 (ten years ago) link

tsrobodo, Tuesday, 31 December 2013 16:57 (ten years ago) link
