Spottie, Saturday, 4 January 2014 04:37 (ten years ago) link

Kendall Marshall in D'Antoniball is pretty fucking cool

Matt Armstrong, Saturday, 4 January 2014 04:41 (ten years ago) link

idk, the clips are probably royally fucked. they'll be lucky to go .500 for those 5 weeks.

k3vin k., Saturday, 4 January 2014 04:41 (ten years ago) link

bunch of games v east coast teams. if they maintain .500 they should be fine. Blake has been playing really well.

Spottie, Saturday, 4 January 2014 04:47 (ten years ago) link

can blake keep it up with paul off the floor? i get some amar'e w/ nash feelings from him sometimes.

gonna hurt their playoff seeding regardless, though, west is too tight.

Clay, Saturday, 4 January 2014 04:49 (ten years ago) link

yeah that's the thing. they ain't falling out of the playoffs, but they're not gonna be happy about falling out of the top 6 and having to play SA or OKC

k3vin k., Saturday, 4 January 2014 04:50 (ten years ago) link

they're currently one game ahead of houston or homecourt in the first round, and three games up on dallas for the eight seed, that's even tighter than i thought dang.

Clay, Saturday, 4 January 2014 04:52 (ten years ago) link

was it his shooting shoulder?

Spottie, Saturday, 4 January 2014 04:53 (ten years ago) link

the west is super tight

yep

k3vin k., Saturday, 4 January 2014 04:54 (ten years ago) link

god, JR, whyyyyyyyyyy

Nhex, Saturday, 4 January 2014 04:55 (ten years ago) link

might take some time to get back to normal then xp

Spottie, Saturday, 4 January 2014 04:55 (ten years ago) link

lol nhex

Spottie, Saturday, 4 January 2014 04:55 (ten years ago) link

Grizz could make a run when Gasol comes back

Spottie, Saturday, 4 January 2014 04:55 (ten years ago) link

the bargnani one WAS worse - they were winning and it actually took the game into double overtime - but JR's fuckup here actually did cost the game

he played pretty good his rookie season before paul showed up

lag∞n, Saturday, 4 January 2014 05:28 (ten years ago) link

also amare was a god before injuries caught up w him

lag∞n, Saturday, 4 January 2014 05:29 (ten years ago) link

yeah he could handle his own

Spottie, Saturday, 4 January 2014 05:31 (ten years ago) link

once he got that midrange game it was over

Spottie, Saturday, 4 January 2014 05:32 (ten years ago) link

even before, i never quite saw anything like it, like he didnt really have moves even hed just get the ball and dunk on anyone from anywhere it made no sense, he dropped 40+ on prime duncan in a playoff game, there was nothing you could really do with him

lag∞n, Saturday, 4 January 2014 05:40 (ten years ago) link

So smooth too

Spottie, Saturday, 4 January 2014 05:55 (ten years ago) link

Rip

Spottie, Saturday, 4 January 2014 05:56 (ten years ago) link

Those suns teams man, totally brought my love for the game back.

Spottie, Saturday, 4 January 2014 05:56 (ten years ago) link

Nash making MVPs out of like q rich and Tim Thomas.

Spottie, Saturday, 4 January 2014 05:57 (ten years ago) link

max joe johnson

Clay, Saturday, 4 January 2014 06:10 (ten years ago) link

Early amare was incredible I watched this silly hourlong doc on him on like starz or epicz or whatever this summer and it's incredible he could do anything, he was basically never coached by anyone maybe Marc iavaroni showed him one or two things but that was still in dantoni ball, so the whole thing was get the ball to Nash or shoot shoot shoot

Anyway he was so good and sucks that he is a dried husk of himself

z-time champion (agent hibachi), Saturday, 4 January 2014 12:40 (ten years ago) link

Lol Knicks PR machine dropping stories off that they are "discussing" a Blake for melo swap only the twist is they are discussing it INTERNALLY

Breaking news celtics gm ainge: we are discussing trading Brandon bass and Phil Pressey for Lebron James Kevin durant and the #1 pick oh hey yes we are only discussing this internally but you all want to know right???

z-time champion (agent hibachi), Saturday, 4 January 2014 12:43 (ten years ago) link

Wait so cp3 basically flopped his way into a separated shoulder?

poetic

lag∞n, Saturday, 4 January 2014 15:15 (ten years ago) link

what about chandler and melo for blake

lag∞n, Saturday, 4 January 2014 15:15 (ten years ago) link

clips would be better this year, but theres no way you do young for old like that

lag∞n, Saturday, 4 January 2014 15:16 (ten years ago) link

the funny thing is melo is quietly having a monster season and trying really hard and caring a lot lol irony

lag∞n, Saturday, 4 January 2014 15:16 (ten years ago) link

btw kinda crazy how deandre jordan sporting a career average of 7 is leading the league in rebounding

yeah! melo is actually playing pretty well and i sort of feel bad for him
that he gets as much of the blame as he does

k3vin k., Saturday, 4 January 2014 15:49 (ten years ago) link

and if i'm the clips i would seriously consider that trade, not sure how the money works out tho

― lag∞n, Saturday, January 4, 2014 10:43 AM (8 minutes ago)

his rebound rate is up moderately but he's getting more minutes than ever and the clips are playing faster this year is most of the reason

k3vin k., Saturday, 4 January 2014 15:52 (ten years ago) link

melo is not that good also he's opting out this year so you're trading for 70% of a season and the right to offer him $120 million or whatever

no thanks

le goon (J0rdan S.), Saturday, 4 January 2014 15:55 (ten years ago) link

the idea of the clippers trading blake griffin for him is categorically insane

wow moderately yeah 20% good theory kev

lag∞n, Saturday, 4 January 2014 15:57 (ten years ago) link

just in terms of personnel the clips get much better immediately after that trade

k3vin k., Saturday, 4 January 2014 15:57 (ten years ago) link

i doubt the clippers would even be better this year with the melo/chandler combo unless they also flipped deandre and totally flipped the team

and even at that chandler is such a high injury risk and if he gets hurt again then you've traded your no doubt franchise player for not even a full season of carmelo anthony and a great one-way player who can't even stay on the floor

le goon (J0rdan S.), Saturday, 4 January 2014 15:58 (ten years ago) link

you can't play chandler and deandre at the same time... that's basically the same player

le goon (J0rdan S.), Saturday, 4 January 2014 15:58 (ten years ago) link

they get much better this year but theyre getting two guys moderately on the wrong side of 30 classic trap

lag∞n, Saturday, 4 January 2014 15:59 (ten years ago) link

you cant play deadre and chandler together but chandler is much much better

lag∞n, Saturday, 4 January 2014 15:59 (ten years ago) link

and as little of a fan of deandre as i am i still wouldn't do deandre-blake for carmelo-chandler even if the world was guaranteed to end in august of 2014

le goon (J0rdan S.), Saturday, 4 January 2014 15:59 (ten years ago) link

it's definitely risky, but it also seems clear now that this clipper team is not getting to the finals

k3vin k., Saturday, 4 January 2014 16:00 (ten years ago) link

but they have young players who are still improving and they can continue to build their team, they do that trade and its win now or bust

lag∞n, Saturday, 4 January 2014 16:01 (ten years ago) link

heh was this sarcasm

k3vin k., Saturday, 4 January 2014 16:01 (ten years ago) link

jordan is right though that fit would become an issue, unless the clips play melo at the 4, his natural position and one he's thrived at next to chandler

k3vin k., Saturday, 4 January 2014 16:02 (ten years ago) link

well he is right that deandre is overqualified to be a back up
