which city for GTA 5?

@aconley: I realy enjoyed it at the beginning, got a nice house, all expensive cars but it takes away the challange to give it all and take the bounties that we can get and all the missions we do to get it.now i am a rich idiot sitting all the time in my car cruising around LS. i want my i atleast would like to keep like 1 million because there are people blowing up my stuff and for some reason they don't need to charge for it.

i've done tonnes! there are people who are deep into them, if i've ever done one i've got to do a bunch in a go. if we're ever on gta at the same time gooole hit me up and we can jump.

i feel like i must be wired up differently than the average player. i like having something to do, and running around the freeroam map capping whoever comes around seems super dull to me. people must want those pink guns huh.

i haven't modified any of the cars yet. they tell you that if you park a car in your "garage" you'll get to keep it forever. so i kept parking cars in my characters' garages. at their homes. you know, michael's garage. franklin's garage. they'd just disappear. finally i realized they were talking about this other garage across town. AAARGH.

so now i have a few pretty fast cars saved in there, a couple of porsche types cars.

off topic, i LOVE the port. it feels so real.

another little note in my head, you can totally tell that british people wrote the script. there are these little britishisms that creep in, stuff like "fuck all"; it's weird to me that the voice actors didn't speak up about that stuff.

Part of GTA's charm has always been this cartoon USA with this Britishes glow shining through it from behind the curtain.... Kinda like ILX, actually.

it is my ambition to do the prank where you load the simeon car up with sticky bombs and leave it for someone else to take, as nv described above.

You don't even have to use the stickies. Take it into a mod shop and put the explosives on in there. That way you won't have to manually fire the bomb to go off and who ever gets in won't ever see it coming.

These forum people... there's just this world of panicky people who have no business playing video games. Crying because the game's been ruined with all the money. You still have to rank up! I'm so tired of getting shot by people with bigger weapons than me, there's my motivation to get past the 60s. Better missions that open up. The money was always weird anyway. $620 for a t-shirt?

I get tripped out by all of these role-players. "Join my crew, we all wear police outfits and ride around on CHiPs motorcycles!" Or the weird thread I read about this crew that basically puts on "Our Town" every Thursday night. One crewmember on a recruiting thread once described what a newcomer would go through in his first session. "We'll have a ranked member meet you somewhere in Los Santos, fill you in on some the rules and then let you try to qualify for a few crew activities...." What the shit? No, tanks in the game are not the problem here.

I would like to find some crews since no one does missions or races anymore. I've still yet to see an ILG PS3 member live online. I put up a new emblem for us, but couldn't get it loaded into the game.

I must admit to finding this dude's videos quite addictive. they certainly inspire me to jump back on gta online in the hope of such yuks. but then I just get pulverised by some pwner over and over again...

Yeah, me and my buddy rolled that orange around the vineyards for a lot longer than I thought we would. I shot it down first and went chasing after it, but apparently it looked to him like it never left.

- BUDDY: It's still here, from what I can see.
- ME: What do you mean it's still up there? (Turns away from orange to see "new" orange back up on soda stand. Look back to vineyard and "old" orange is gone.)

So we were pretty pleased with ourselves when we managed to roll the orange and keep it together between us. Somehow, the authorities became involved (as they do) and even after dying, we'd respawn and celebrate that the orange was still there.

I don't know. We had been running races and staying out of freemode, but we were inspired to go back into Los Santos and look for trouble. He had bought a bright pink moped which we decided would be the perfect vehicle for some drive-by's. One guy wouldn't come out of his apartment, so we parked the moped on his porch and rang his doorbell. We were about to leave again when dude came out and shot my buddy in the chest. Knocked us both over since I was riding behind him on the moped.

Now it was on. Got into a firefight before the apartment dude raced off in a regular car. I could go on and on about it all, but it involves exchanging bullets with a limousine, said limo planting a sticky and sending us on the moped about 50 feet into the air, me grabbing the firetruck and blasting the limo driver as he came out of Ammunation and somehow killing him with water... Had the headset turned on to just me and my friend, so I don't know if they were 12-year-olds or what. To me, they were just pawns in the game, man, pawns in the game.

Anyway. Freemode was fun for once.

Man, they add jumps and the race creator tool, and suddenly I'm obsessed with the racing again. I love so many of the races that people are making.

yeah, it's added a lot to the experience. but getting people to spontaneously coordinate to try them all is still a problem. people seem to loooove that freeway jumps race.

i've also found that the ramps don't really play well with all vehicles off-road.

my latest pet peeve: people who don't vote in lobbies. dude. let's get off this screen. thank you.

oh and i think i figured out the 'fast start' thing in races. i couldn't get it to work for anything until i had my tv turned up too loud. the 3 2 1 go! countdown has a booming noise on every count, but there's also a slight echo on each one. the trigger instant is on the final echo, not the final beat.

I somehow nailed the fast start thing on a half-dozen races in a row the other night. I don't know how, though me trying to hit that final beat after a few beers may have helped.

i don't really play gta 5 anymore - i've gone back to saints row instead :/

surely you all know this but R* dropped the hammer on the money cheats. my passively acquired $1.5 billion returned to $200k. but my sweet pad, 10 tricked out cars and many boats and aircraft are still with me. rendering the game somewhat goal-less.

had a couple PP-style odd interactions, all wordless. there's a funny tension when a guy pulls up to you in his car, and you don't know, are you going to shoot me? run me down? invite me to something? this guy just kept honking til i got in. then he drove around aimlessly for a while. i shot at a few people, never enough to get more than 1 star. then he found another player standing idle. he parked, got out, drilled the guy. then he just stood there. i wondered if he was messing with the camera. the third man respawned and came back for us both. for a split second i thought, how can i explain that i wasn't responsible for his murder, but then, out came the carbine. i think by then we had attracted 2 or 3 stars, and it was kind of a shitshow after that. i was just looking for an SUV to steal, and then this.

I'll try tonight and see if I can drive that bus out of the prison, out of the stupid verified deathmatch, out of the online session and maybe take it for a spin on Gran Turismo 5.

I wish there was a good way to find user created races. I played one last night that I loved so much. It starts off inside Fort Zancudo, and traffic/cops is turned on. You have four stars essentially for the whole race. Very very chaotic and fun.

I went through some of those one night. Took me forever to get past that cult one on the mountain since they'll shoot at you any time of day.

Was coming back from all that through the tunnel when *SLAM* ~~ GANG ATTACK! Wha? All of a sudden, there were members of The Lost taking shots at me from inside the tunnel. Kinda exciting when danger pops up on ya like that.

Forgive me for a Dad moment, but six-year-old Beeps came up with the name "Shoots & Ladders" for our game. I thought it was pretty good.

We've taken it away from her four-year-old brother though. Even after emptying the ammo, he still had a tendency to pistol-whip any pedestrian he saw. The final straw was the weekend when he began proclaiming that everything was bullshit.

He and I still sit down and race cars. He picks the colors and pats me on the back when I successfully land a jump.

when did u start letting yr 4yo play video games and when would you say he started developing dexterity/acumen for gameplay? sounds like he's pretty good now?

He's been tapping an iPad since he was just over a year old. He started playing with a joystick, games like Sonic the Hedgehog and Katamari around two or so? I mean, he didn't really know what he was doing, but it was around then that he made the connection between the game controller and what was happening on the screen.

He and his sister have a Toy Story game that's very sandboxy like GTA, and that's been going on for over a year. It's crazy how those two have memorized where in the game certain features are, how you have to go down that tunnel and up that ladder to get to the treasure, etc. It's got races, find these pieces of whatever, strategies like you have to go hit the knob in that room to turn on the thing in this room.

He's gotten pretty good. He plays the old Sega version of Crash Bandicoot, where you have to spin around to get this guy or jump up to get that guy. Also some Frogger moves of jumping onto and then immediately off of a hippo's back to get somewhere. I'm impressed.

i started up a female online character, just to see what it was like, and if having a low-level character w/o any money or whips was still fun. it kind of is? here's what i learned

in the intro mission, lamar shows up with a rose at the airport and keeps asking to have sex with you.

i've always liked playing dress-up in these sandbox games. the ladies' clothes all look pretty good. and since the game has some kind of 'market pricing' for goods (you've notices this in the mod shop, haven't you? esp with paint jobs?) it means the clothing is pretty cheap! since it's about 100 to 1 dude avatars the demand is low.

i received 1 unprompted friend request after about 5 mins of freeroam play. lol.

you share a bank account with your first online player, but nothing else, to my knowledge.

My second character is female too. Characters share a bank account, but also, when I take my male first character into his wardrobe to get dressed, there's an option for "Pumps" that wasn't there before. (It's always empty, though.)

that popped after xmas, before i started up the life of a new female criminal. i think the elf shoes were in the pump category, and now everybody is stuck with it.

i like working out totally irrelevant quirks of this game like that, and having no clue how, like, stealth works

The "stealth" in this game is infuriating. I went on one of those jobs where you blow up a bunch of cars, at the docks, and figured I'd just pop dudes with the sniper rifle from a container lift, easy peasy. Climbed all over, jumped everywhere, nobody did nothing. Settled in, raised the rifle to my eye: everybody goes ham and starts shooting me. What's the point of sniping of you can't do it unnoticed??

The only time I've ever seen stealth work is during deathmatches.

Even the silencer you can fit weapons with seems to be bullshit.
