Missed K. Michelle's headling W. DC area club gig the night before Thanksgiving, but not sure I want to see her open for Robin Thicke at the Patriot Center basketball arena in February though. She's doing a number of gigs opening for him that month.

lol. Yeah that track is all time. Too many R&B singers are beat-jacking '90s hip-hop, which annoys me on paper, but the results are usually pretty effective, so I understand why they do it even if it's lazy.

I won't embed it here, but there's a new-ish Eric Bellinger/Problem track that's just Kris Kross's "Jump." And I hate it, but I also kind of don't hate it.

The Mack Wilds album is pretty OK. It commits to the downtempo '90s hip-hop vibe admirably (its only features are Method Man and Raekwon) and Wilds is an agreeable enough presence, even if the songs aren't all that memorable or ambitious. I'm a sucker for this stuff, though.

heard a really good algebra blessett song called 'danger zone' on the radio - throwback vibe but with that ever-elusive unbeholden, self-possessed jazmine sullivan swag. preview clips of the lp (on bbe) sound v strong

first listen to the algebra album (on worst promo stream in the world) is very pleasing indeed

this tink mixtape on the other hand is tedious in the extreme, she's like a parody of thin-voiced cassie fan club fetishists. occasionally decent when she raps though

i don't like the winters diary / R&B ones personally

but there are def memorable moments of rapping on her other tapes

yeah i guess it's all scattered and i never went back to them, point me to the rap ones? not going to sit through the r&b nothingness again

i do like the new danity kane on one listen but godddd that dawn/druski split really did rob us of something that was gonna be really special
