^^ my dad (and me) in 1973. We lived in a shared house, and all the adults were beautiful and had luxurious hair. So like BB, I grew up with a firm preference for long hair. I agree it needs to be looked after, though, and there's no way to make it look good once it really starts to thin.

I wz one of those teenage boys who had long hair 'on principle' without paying attention whatsoever to how it looked.

hmm this is me except I'm not teenage or a boy and the only principle I have long hair on is that I was tired of being asked if I was a boy or a girl when I had short hair (which I also paid 0 attention to and was too plump-cheeked/square-faced to suit)

I was going to paste some long-haired former crushes but GIS kept also providing pics of them with short hair where they looked even hotter so my endorsement of their hair began to feel redundant

Turns out if you let your hair get to shoulder length and get a bit dirty it's..good? You can just tuck it behind your ears and then everyone else has to deal with looking at it but you don't?
