i hope the Raiders get him

polyphonic, Monday, 10 February 2014 03:41 (ten years ago) link

sounds like he's a tweener pass rusher, Seahawks would be a good fit

Matt Armstrong, Monday, 10 February 2014 03:42 (ten years ago) link

Yeah vilma can fuck off. He's played with gay guys and showered with them. He just doesn't know it. So stupid.

Seahawks really don't need any more D though. They are so fucking loaded.

Prince Kajuku (Bill Magill), Monday, 10 February 2014 03:52 (ten years ago) link

yeah. been a long time since i thought a super-bowl winner was poised to repeat. but this seattle team . . .

Daniel, Esq 2, Monday, 10 February 2014 03:53 (ten years ago) link

from what I've read Seattle is probably gonna lose some guys on D, but the cap is a nebulous thing

Matt Armstrong, Monday, 10 February 2014 03:53 (ten years ago) link

I'd be surprised if Vilma is on an NFL roster next season.

Fetchboy, Monday, 10 February 2014 04:05 (ten years ago) link

If NO cuts him, Gregg Williams will bring him to St. Louis. They're despicable bros.

wrong. the actual nfl season may be where your stupid patriots shine. but the offseason; that belongs to dolphins.

Daniel, Esq 2, Friday, 14 February 2014 16:20 (ten years ago) link

pretty cool that Incognito took it upon himself to toughen up that assistant trainer by calling him a fucking chink, pretty selfless guy imo.

The Wisdom of Gafflers (JoeStork), Friday, 14 February 2014 21:27 (ten years ago) link

he's a peach.

Daniel, Esq 2, Friday, 14 February 2014 22:46 (ten years ago) link

i think it's being positioned where only a select group of perpetrators will be punished, and the team will escape a saints-type punishment because of how they (as an organization, at least) cooperated with the paul, weiss firm. but make no mistake: the parts of the report i've seen are damning against the entire organization, not just a few "bad apples."

Daniel, Esq 2, Friday, 14 February 2014 22:48 (ten years ago) link

Has Incognito's twitter account finally been suspended?

One bad call from barely losing to (Alex in SF), Saturday, 15 February 2014 02:36 (ten years ago) link

or taken down by him. the actual super-bowl game was a laughable dud. they should award football's highest honor to who has the most compelling train-wreck of an offseason. the fins would be on their way to as many championships as the heat.

Daniel, Esq 2, Saturday, 15 February 2014 02:40 (ten years ago) link

$44 million to Goodell. Gotta be the highest paid operator of a "charity" going. Has he done anything about the dolphins yet?

Prince Kajuku (Bill Magill), Sunday, 16 February 2014 05:05 (ten years ago) link

Ban incognito for life, suspend philbin, pouncey, Jerry and the o-line coach for a year. Also take away the first round pick in '15 which could quite possibly be number one. And facilitate a soft landing for Martin in sf with his college coach.

Done.

Prince Kajuku (Bill Magill), Sunday, 16 February 2014 05:11 (ten years ago) link

Martins gotta be better than any o-lineman currently playing for the falcons, tbh.

Prince Kajuku (Bill Magill), Sunday, 16 February 2014 05:13 (ten years ago) link

the nfl hasn't done anything yet. for anyone curious, the paul weiss report on the dolphins bullying scandal is riveting. most focus on the executive summary and the early parts of the report, but there is eye-opening stuff from roughly pages 90 -- 140.

the text messages between martin and his mother are heartbreaking.

Daniel, Esq 2, Sunday, 16 February 2014 05:14 (ten years ago) link

some think martin will wind up playing for his old coach, now with the 49ers. in the wells-report, he says martin is tough-enough to play in the nfl, and should be able to resume his career.

Daniel, Esq 2, Sunday, 16 February 2014 05:15 (ten years ago) link

figured bill for a martin's-a-pussy guy tbh

mookieproof, Sunday, 16 February 2014 05:15 (ten years ago) link

i'm predisposed to feel this way, but martin comes off very sympathetically in the paul weiss report.

Daniel, Esq 2, Sunday, 16 February 2014 05:16 (ten years ago) link

I figure SF or Indy is where Martin will end up.

Lombardi actually did a good job with the Browns I think. Remember he was only there what, 9 months? And he pulled off that Trent Richardson robbery.

Matt Armstrong, Sunday, 16 February 2014 09:27 (ten years ago) link

yeah apparently the owner fired them cuz he's pissed they didn't hire schiano. new coach maybe shouldn't buy a house.

Tony Gonzalez in, Dan Marino and Shannon Sharpe out at CBS

mookieproof, Tuesday, 18 February 2014 17:47 (ten years ago) link

Cowher and Esiason could stand to go too, imo. Hell, get rid of James Brown while you're at it. They're the lamest NFL panel on gameday, and I'm including Fox.

Because he's a goofball?

Johnny Fever, Tuesday, 18 February 2014 18:40 (ten years ago) link

he's soon to be a goofball executive for the dolphins, which will surely solve the organization's credibility problems!

Daniel, Esq 2, Tuesday, 18 February 2014 18:45 (ten years ago) link

idk, i just don't like the guy. that video where he gets all pissy on the set of the football show was hilarious to me.

call all destroyer, Tuesday, 18 February 2014 18:59 (ten years ago) link

wasn't he already a goofball dolphins exec for like five minutes?

Richard Sherman, too. Earl Thomas. Kam Chancellor. Percy Harvin. The boys who made this work just want to work.

Earl Thomas also just got fucking paid in the offseason. As did Sherman Classic stuff.

Prince Kajuku (Bill Magill), Friday, 1 August 2014 14:23 (nine years ago) link

I guess Dan Marino and Shannon Sharp got the cut on CBS' pregame setup. I guess Tony Gonzales is one of the replacements.

Dan Marino will probably just go home and count his money, but it might be interesting if he did some game work even some college games. If he wanted to stay in the announcing game, that's what he should do.

earlnash, Sunday, 3 August 2014 23:49 (nine years ago) link

I've heard Boomer Esiason on the radio more than a few times, I'm kind of surprised he hasn't done more TV play by play.

I think they need to mix it up a bit.

Six years, $115-mil for Andy Dalton????

Mr. Snrub, Monday, 4 August 2014 16:25 (nine years ago) link

kinda looks like the Kaepernick contract wherein the Bengals can easily dump him without too much of an issue

Deadspin certainly thinks so.

Mr. Snrub, Monday, 4 August 2014 17:18 (nine years ago) link

yeah judging on the numbers is ridiculous but judging it on the basis of 'bengals commit to dalton' seems fair. this isn't even a 'competent qb w/ some potential' situation like flacco. maybe it's something like the jets did w/ sanchez where it's a vote of confidence contract but it means virtually nothing.

collinsworth is so bad. heard him for like 30 seconds last night and he was praising the giants bravery and dedication for overhauling their aging broken down oline. ok dude

johnny crunch, Monday, 4 August 2014 18:02 (nine years ago) link

I was doing quite a bit of driving and caught quite a few Monday night football broadcasts on the radio and I thought Esiason was more laid back on the radio working games. I liked him better. I think it's kind of hard not to come off like a douche on those Football opening shows. Most of that stuff is just blather and not a whole lot about x-o's.

I wish I could care but pre-season football is just brutally boring. It all goes on way, way too long.

earlnash, Tuesday, 5 August 2014 04:22 (nine years ago) link
