Lord Scratchthorn wasn't in this ep

Quinoa Phoenix (latebloomer), Wednesday, 14 May 2014 04:46 (nine years ago) link

Hope they include the pie juggling scene from book five though, hands down best scene in the books

Quinoa Phoenix (latebloomer), Wednesday, 14 May 2014 04:48 (nine years ago) link

GUYS THERE IS A SPOILER THREAD ELSEWHERE.

Call the Doctorb, the B is for Brownstein (Leee), Wednesday, 14 May 2014 04:58 (nine years ago) link

Oh c'mon when Lord Scratchthorn drops the pie and out comes the shadow kitten my jaw dropped and I cried

Quinoa Phoenix (latebloomer), Wednesday, 14 May 2014 06:17 (nine years ago) link

Ser Pounce keeps trying to eat Lord Scratchthorn to settle his stomach. Then throws up on the bathroom mat ON PURPOSE I swear.

scene hadn't ended as I was typing. ick times a million

building a desert (art), Monday, 19 May 2014 01:55 (nine years ago) link

Yeah that was definitely an icky moment, but this is a show that really traffics in icky moments.

I was glad to see Hot Pie again. Sort of comforting to know that in the midst of all this blood and chaos, he's just been chilling at the tavern making kidney pies and pontificating about gravy.

Did they change the actor for the Mountain?

Who was that dude?

Dreamland, Monday, 19 May 2014 03:33 (nine years ago) link

They've had three actors play the part of the Mountain now.

Brienne made a joke!

He was #1. Number two was a really skinny guy. Now we're on the third.

Call the Doctorb, the B is for Brownstein (Leee), Monday, 19 May 2014 04:00 (nine years ago) link

Third guy is way too young to be believable as the Hound's older brother...

Second guy was just way too skinny.

First guy was perfect in every way. Should have brought him back...

Liked the Beckett-esque discussion with the dying peasant about going on living out of habit.

Hound and Arya scenes all gold this week. All season in fact.

Daario most unconvincing lover man ever

"Nothing is not better nor worse, it's just nothing."

This narrows down a point I always try to make about how death isn't really ever a "solution" for personal suffering when philosophical conversations bring me there.

Evan, Monday, 19 May 2014 15:29 (nine years ago) link

Transition from Waiting for Godot into actual zombie survival movie not appreciated

, Monday, 19 May 2014 15:30 (nine years ago) link

i liked that line, but mostly because she said "Nothing is not better or worse than anything" which somehow puts it into a kind of ontological tailspin.

ryan, Monday, 19 May 2014 15:36 (nine years ago) link

Felt so bad for the Hound, cause I remembered that David Lee of the Golden State Warriors almost died because somebody bit his elbow and it got infected

David Lee of the Golden State Warriors Lockhart/Gardner

Man, Sunday nights are getting confusing up in here.

What was the point of the Melisandre scene other than to show off her talent(s)?

Why wouldn't the hound allow her to heat a sword and cauterize it that way - no fire!

I really enjoyed Emilia Clarke's line read on "Take off your clothes". I've been muttering it to myself in her Madonna-esque accent all morning.

disappointed to see that the actor who plays hot pie has deleted his tweet demanding the murder/execution of jon venables, believe it closed w/ "maybe then I wouldn't be so angry"

kinder, Monday, 19 May 2014 21:54 (nine years ago) link

Disappointing he didn't go full Taffin and end with "maybe you shouldn't be living heeeeeeeeeeeeere!".

ha, yeah, this might be the only truly chill scene in the entire series.

yet she's too creepy to really make a scene chill

obliquity of the ecliptic (rrrobyn), Tuesday, 20 May 2014 02:57 (nine years ago) link

I wonder how they break down the writing gigs because the dialogue in the scene with Arya, the Hound and the dying man can't be by the same people who write the Essos or Night's Watch scenes. That whole exchange about death was on another level. "Nothing isn't better or worse than anything. Nothing is just nothing."

Littlefinger's accent is one of the show's seven wonders. "What shall it be today? Johnson from Peep Show? Rob Brydon caught between impersonations? A Welshman trying to sound Irish? An Irishman trying to sound Welsh? Why not all of them? Yeeeeesss."

What is wrong with songs? Absolutely nothing. Songs are great. (DL), Tuesday, 20 May 2014 13:19 (nine years ago) link

daario v.1 definitely seemed to have a sinister edge that this guy is lacking. He reminds me more of Ellis from Die Hard (Daenerys! Bubby! I'm your white knight!) than a dangerous sellsword with nebulous motives.
