That's kind of cool because three syllable "game of thrones" is out of phase with four syllable "NERR ner ner-ner" so you have to be on your game.

Braavos looked good in the actual show.

Agreed, but we saw Braavos once, something like two episodes before it appeared in the opening credits, IIRC.

I think the incidental music is mostly pretty blah (remember a nice cue in s1 when arya was training with syrio) but the main theme is undeniably huge.

for some reason it's the last "HO-dor ho" (minus the last 'ho') that cracks me up every time

It does need to be mentioned that Blue Oyster Cult have been using the GoT main title as their walk-on music for at least 2 years (E Bloom is a big SFF nerd)

haha I guess I am busted for having mainly done the books on audiobook, where Roy Dotrice pronounced it 'neeps'.

the tune is decent & I approve of the dulcimer bit but I am bored w/ fantasy stuff having big stirring string arrangements, even tho some of it is well done. this is the 21st century. the best GoT stuff is like a poor man's gladiator soundtrack

exactly, production-wise it's the biggest lame note in the whole series for me. I know they were going with Stephen Warbeck until very very late in the game and then switched to Djawadi with only a couple of months before the premiere... I doubt Warbeck would have done much better tbh. Something like Christian Henson's music for Black Death would have been good for GoT.

GoT was a good opportunity to bust out the doom or power metal.

The proper lyrics are "Throne Game, Throne Game, Game of Thrones, Throne Game, Throne Game, Game of Thrones"... at least that's how they are sung in my household

anyone who thinks the theme song isnt flat out the best thing on tv nowadays is the rongest of the rong

It's a great tune/hook but Djawadi does absolutely NOTHING with it, it's just so dead as music.

Given that most of the show is comprised of people standing around talking in front of an impressive backdrop then it's kind of apt.
