it's funny because reading this and my 00 list, so many pleasant or happy memories are triggered by the sight of many of these songs, and it makes me start to think that those were the happiest years of my life. and then i have to check myself and remember all the shit that went down the same years. i guess it's kind of a testament to the (sometimes) unfettered happiness music can bring. (also, i tend to lard all my emotional gunk onto older songs, for some reason.)
