i should stop being surprised at the number of frat dudes at these kinds of shows i guess? like this stuff has always coded to me as a countercultural cause it was me and the skate rats listening to D4 and whatever back in the day, but times change i guess

I think it REALLY depends on what city you're in

maybe--the DC denim jacket+patches kids all go to the hc/grindcore shows in basements that i'm going to fewer and fewer of these days. the stuff that'd go in this thread seems to attract other strata.

i like guitars and emo/pop-punk/bullshit, and i don't mind shouty but i prefer singy ... or at least some singy mixed in with the shouty. knowing right where a record falls on that spectrum would be sweet.

driver friendly is like 100/0 singy/shouty. it is definitely not as good as bury a dream though

Yeah it's not quite as striking as Bury a Dream, but their records always sound so good. Every tone on this album is so crisp and alert; I wish more albums were produced like this

i'm really coming around to the driver friendly now actually. way more upbeat than bury a dream but i think "undone" is one of their best songs. also yeah best guitar tones in the game
