the hound is the best character i think

someone needs to tell danerys that chaining up the dragons is only going to be a solution for like 2 seconds and then it's buckets of crispy-fried-children city

set the controls for the heart of the sun (VegemiteGrrl), Tuesday, 17 June 2014 01:01 (nine years ago) link

I thought she was leaving the dragons to die and then calling a hunt for the remaining one.

I thought Arya might meet Gendry at the shore but that might be a coincidence too far.

I actually really liked that bit with the old man in the nice tree. I happened to be looking at one of my Charles Vess art books last night and it had his art for Storm Of Swords, including that tree and the wildling attacks.

This has nothing to do with recent episodes but I'm always confused why people make such a big deal of the show's sex/nudity. If I was describing the show to someone, I wouldn't think that element was worth mentioning. Some people speak like it's Philip Jose Farmer adapted by Jean Rollin.

Robert Adam Gilmour, Tuesday, 17 June 2014 01:08 (nine years ago) link

Yeah I forgot about that. As far as we know, Gendy is still in a tiny boat in the middle of the ocean.

someone just pointed out to me that the hound was ultimately killed because of a mountain

silverfish, Tuesday, 17 June 2014 03:32 (nine years ago) link

otm about hound. and that dude just nails it

socki (s1ocki), Tuesday, 17 June 2014 12:47 (nine years ago) link

too bad they messed up the mountain casting.

socki (s1ocki), Tuesday, 17 June 2014 12:47 (nine years ago) link

they should have done the "this surgery will change him" thing before the recasting

relentlessly pecking at peace (President Keyes), Tuesday, 17 June 2014 12:59 (nine years ago) link

I have a feeling we'll see the ol' Hound again. We didn't actually see him die. Plus he has to face off against The Mountain.

Brio2, Tuesday, 17 June 2014 13:54 (nine years ago) link

maybe there was a maester behind that rock!

mizzell, Tuesday, 17 June 2014 13:56 (nine years ago) link

Also hoping the mad scientist Maester turns the Mountain into Mountain:

Throwing another unlikely possibility out there, red lady is Jon Snow's mother?
That look they shared looked like it was supposed to be of special significance. Maybe he just sees a new hot redhead and she sees a new royal bastard to burn.

Robert Adam Gilmour, Tuesday, 17 June 2014 14:10 (nine years ago) link

that was my take

lag∞n, Tuesday, 17 June 2014 14:12 (nine years ago) link

i thought she was just scoping some hot king's blood for potions

Brio2, Tuesday, 17 June 2014 14:15 (nine years ago) link

ya she def wants to burn him up

lag∞n, Tuesday, 17 June 2014 14:16 (nine years ago) link

I'm pretty sure the Hound lives. When has this show ever skipped an opportunity for an on-screen death? Plus it basically cut from "The Mountain's gonna be back - and freaky!" to The Hound's "death". I know this show delights in killing off characters we're invested in, but it feels like there's some unfinished business here.

Brio2, Tuesday, 17 June 2014 14:19 (nine years ago) link

i hope so!

lag∞n, Tuesday, 17 June 2014 14:19 (nine years ago) link

he didnt look like he was in that bad shape, more embarrassed than anything really

Probably Jon has some royal blood in him and she's thinking about draining him

relentlessly pecking at peace (President Keyes), Tuesday, 17 June 2014 14:21 (nine years ago) link

i don't know if it matters but technically ned was not a king or otherwise royal. would robb being declared king retroactively give a step brother royal blood?

Roberto Spiralli, Tuesday, 17 June 2014 14:21 (nine years ago) link

half brother

lag∞n, Tuesday, 17 June 2014 14:23 (nine years ago) link

that too

Roberto Spiralli, Tuesday, 17 June 2014 14:23 (nine years ago) link

but what if job show was royal via some other blood line just throwin that out there

lag∞n, Tuesday, 17 June 2014 14:25 (nine years ago) link

xpost
there's a (non-spoiler) theory that Jon is actually the son of Ned's sister and one of the Targaryans

relentlessly pecking at peace (President Keyes), Tuesday, 17 June 2014 14:25 (nine years ago) link

the starks were kings of the north before the targaryens came and united the seven kingdoms, don't know if that counts.

mizzell, Tuesday, 17 June 2014 14:27 (nine years ago) link

yeah I don't know how fussy she is about how kingy the king's blood is

Brio2, Tuesday, 17 June 2014 14:28 (nine years ago) link

we need a reference guide on how blood magic works, maybe there is a wiki. maybe when it comes to magic all that matters is what you believe to be so.

job show

Roberto Spiralli, Tuesday, 17 June 2014 14:29 (nine years ago) link

blood sugar, baby.

socki (s1ocki), Tuesday, 17 June 2014 14:31 (nine years ago) link

they reminded us last week that the old dude at the wall is a Targaryan

lag∞n, Tuesday, 17 June 2014 14:35 (nine years ago) link

i don't want to say too much but the old blind guy and the red witch have sexual relations and she gives birth to a dragon

Roberto Spiralli, Tuesday, 17 June 2014 14:37 (nine years ago) link

m/l what i expected

Some book fans are saying that one of the characters who died this season is not really dead.

The Hound seems like the only contender for proper life. Ygritte might turn into a white walker. I'm still holding out a tiny hope for Oberyn being reconstructed by the Lord Of Light.
Maybe some flying creature saved Lysa.

Robert Adam Gilmour, Tuesday, 17 June 2014 15:04 (nine years ago) link

Ha, maybe the missing Dragon saved her.

Robert Adam Gilmour, Tuesday, 17 June 2014 15:06 (nine years ago) link

ygritte got burned up yo

lag∞n, Tuesday, 17 June 2014 15:07 (nine years ago) link

oh was there a tip-off to where Arya's going on the salt ship? She had the magic Braavos coin that makes the Captain grant her a wish, and she said she wanted to go to the Wall... but she seemed excited when he said he was going to Braavos. Seems like Braavos would make for some more entertaining hijinks than more trudging around the North.

And do they say where Tyrion and Varys are headed?

I hope next season is The Real World Braavos and they all live together in a party pad on the beach.

Brio2, Tuesday, 17 June 2014 15:10 (nine years ago) link

Party pad should be inside the left big toe of that big giant statue

, Tuesday, 17 June 2014 15:11 (nine years ago) link

ya shes goin to braavos

think they just said the free cities

lag∞n, Tuesday, 17 June 2014 15:15 (nine years ago) link

awesome - looking forward to some quality time in Braavos next season. So far we've basically only seen the waiting room of a bank.

Brio2, Tuesday, 17 June 2014 15:22 (nine years ago) link

smug ass loan officers smh

lag∞n, Tuesday, 17 June 2014 15:24 (nine years ago) link

Did we really see Ygritte burn properly? There was still time from a white walker to pull her off.

Maybe Gandalf got her.

Robert Adam Gilmour, Tuesday, 17 June 2014 15:35 (nine years ago) link

Ygritte really was "kissed by fire" after this episode!!

, Tuesday, 17 June 2014 15:36 (nine years ago) link

next season opens with Lysa Arryn waking up with a broken leg

relentlessly pecking at peace (President Keyes), Tuesday, 17 June 2014 15:38 (nine years ago) link

LOL. Or landing on the Hound, just the quell the rumors...

schwantz, Tuesday, 17 June 2014 15:39 (nine years ago) link

"Pushed me out the moondoor" is a hell of a domestic abuse charge.

Evan, Tuesday, 17 June 2014 15:42 (nine years ago) link

As well as Gendry that wild girl who protected Bran has been gone a long time. Didn't she leave with somebody?

Robert Adam Gilmour, Tuesday, 17 June 2014 15:52 (nine years ago) link

She's gone off to enforce health and safety regs in King's Landing

, Tuesday, 17 June 2014 15:53 (nine years ago) link

Gendry that wild girl?

Gendry is Robert Baratheons bastard. He is last seen in a boat somewhere.

The wild girl is somewhere looking after Bran's little bro.
