there's a (non-spoiler) theory that Jon is actually the son of Ned's sister and one of the Targaryans

relentlessly pecking at peace (President Keyes), Tuesday, 17 June 2014 14:25 (nine years ago) link

the starks were kings of the north before the targaryens came and united the seven kingdoms, don't know if that counts.

mizzell, Tuesday, 17 June 2014 14:27 (nine years ago) link

yeah I don't know how fussy she is about how kingy the king's blood is

Brio2, Tuesday, 17 June 2014 14:28 (nine years ago) link

we need a reference guide on how blood magic works, maybe there is a wiki. maybe when it comes to magic all that matters is what you believe to be so.

Some book fans are saying that one of the characters who died this season is not really dead.

The Hound seems like the only contender for proper life. Ygritte might turn into a white walker. I'm still holding out a tiny hope for Oberyn being reconstructed by the Lord Of Light.
Maybe some flying creature saved Lysa.

Robert Adam Gilmour, Tuesday, 17 June 2014 15:04 (nine years ago) link

Ha, maybe the missing Dragon saved her.

Robert Adam Gilmour, Tuesday, 17 June 2014 15:06 (nine years ago) link

ygritte got burned up yo

lag∞n, Tuesday, 17 June 2014 15:07 (nine years ago) link

oh was there a tip-off to where Arya's going on the salt ship? She had the magic Braavos coin that makes the Captain grant her a wish, and she said she wanted to go to the Wall... but she seemed excited when he said he was going to Braavos. Seems like Braavos would make for some more entertaining hijinks than more trudging around the North.

And do they say where Tyrion and Varys are headed?

I hope next season is The Real World Braavos and they all live together in a party pad on the beach.

Brio2, Tuesday, 17 June 2014 15:10 (nine years ago) link

Party pad should be inside the left big toe of that big giant statue

, Tuesday, 17 June 2014 15:11 (nine years ago) link

ya shes goin to braavos

awesome - looking forward to some quality time in Braavos next season. So far we've basically only seen the waiting room of a bank.

smug ass loan officers smh

lag∞n, Tuesday, 17 June 2014 15:24 (nine years ago) link

Did we really see Ygritte burn properly? There was still time from a white walker to pull her off.

Maybe Gandalf got her.

Robert Adam Gilmour, Tuesday, 17 June 2014 15:35 (nine years ago) link

Ygritte really was "kissed by fire" after this episode!!

, Tuesday, 17 June 2014 15:36 (nine years ago) link

next season opens with Lysa Arryn waking up with a broken leg

relentlessly pecking at peace (President Keyes), Tuesday, 17 June 2014 15:38 (nine years ago) link

LOL. Or landing on the Hound, just the quell the rumors...

schwantz, Tuesday, 17 June 2014 15:39 (nine years ago) link

"Pushed me out the moondoor" is a hell of a domestic abuse charge.

As well as Gendry that wild girl who protected Bran has been gone a long time. Didn't she leave with somebody?

Robert Adam Gilmour, Tuesday, 17 June 2014 15:52 (nine years ago) link

She's gone off to enforce health and safety regs in King's Landing

, Tuesday, 17 June 2014 15:53 (nine years ago) link

Gendry that wild girl?

Gendry is Robert Baratheons bastard. He is last seen in a boat somewhere.

The wild girl is somewhere looking after Bran's little bro.

Evan, Tuesday, 17 June 2014 15:54 (nine years ago) link

there is a missing comma in that post

No worries Leee I am also very bored at work.

Still waiting for the Gawker Morning After

, Tuesday, 17 June 2014 17:38 (nine years ago) link

As soon as I saw that we were getting a Daenaerys scene I skipped right through. This entire show is better if you just skip the entire sets of characters and entire civilizations you don't care for. Also... Makes the show much much shorter.

That blonde wig chick drives me nuts. I can't tell you how little I care about her or her storyline. A eunuch perving on a bathing woman is a strange encapsulation of why this subplot is so boring.

so i just watched this series from episode one over the last ten days or so. good that i can do other stuff with my time now.

yeah do we know what happened to osha and rennick? weren't they heading to castle black, which bran & co are now presumably miles and miles beyond?

also, has anyone in the history of westeros ever died of natural causes?

had to look it up but according to the game of thrones wiki:

Bran arranged for Osha to bring Rickon to the holdfast of Greatjon Umber, the Lord of Last Hearth and the head of House Umber. Lord Umber was a loyal ally of the Starks. This arrangement also suited Osha because she was unwilling to travel to the north with Bran and company due to the threat of the White Walkers.

so presumably rickon and osha are chilling with the Umbers.

Boris Babacar Diaw-Riffiod (Clay), Wednesday, 18 June 2014 05:22 (nine years ago) link

i have no idea who the umbers are but cool, glad to have that explained without going on a spoiler-ful google search of my own.
