― American Fear of Pranksterism (Ed), Thursday, 10 July 2014 01:01 (nine years ago) link
a shag is a type of bird iirc
― niamh 1073 (electricsound), Thursday, 10 July 2014 01:08 (nine years ago) link
typing in "shag bird" to google was briefly scary but ultimately benign

Also known as teh cormorant.

As in the song "the common cormorant, or shag, lays eggs inside a paper bag, the reason you will see no doubt, it is to keep the lightning out"
(and if anyone but me remembers singing that in primary school I will buy you a pint)

OK, that I did not know. It was in an early 80's "Lets Sing!" set, the music was a sort of kazoo rag piece, it was very odd.

1979, in fact, according to the Lets Sing archive page. Wow.

Let's Sing--was that the one where the pictures were all trembly-edged, as though drawn by a cold or palsied person?

our team bradbury'd over the line after being beaten into second by six points when the 'winners' fessed up that they had too many team members!

any tips for best snobby wanker beer places in Melbum these days, esp around Fitzroy, esp that do tasting paddles or flights?
also is there a burg that cannot be missed

the catfish is well into the crafty beerz, staff are knowledgeable, also melbourne's best (only?) cheesesteaks. unsure about tasting-related stuff, mind you I did go in last thursday on way home and suggested I "wanted something pale ale-ish" and was given a sample before they pulled the pint for me.
that five-storey joint with the old trains on the roof is packin burgs but I cannot speak for the quality. the view from the top oughta be good but.
