it seems like they'd be a contender with a B+/A- quarterback but they almost surely aren't getting one via trade
― Matt Armstrong, Monday, 25 August 2014 05:33 (nine years ago) link
Sanchez wont go there because the Rams would have to give up a 2 or 3 to get him and he'd only be there for one year. At least that's what i read this am. I'd do the deal myself, i think they are in position to strike right now.

shaun hill is just as good as any other option out there. wait for someone to get cut to find a backup. save the draft picks for 2015 when you are going to be drafting a qb anyhow.
― Roberto Spiralli, Monday, 25 August 2014 16:00 (nine years ago) link
yeah as much as i'd love to extort them for ryan mallett, hill can probably still be a decent qb

draft pick and "tim wright"
― Roberto Spiralli, Tuesday, 26 August 2014 17:58 (nine years ago) link
reviews of tim wright are basically all over the place. looks like cost savings/selling high/getting an interesting player at a position of need.
― call all destroyer, Tuesday, 26 August 2014 18:00 (nine years ago) link
tim wright totally does deserve quotes around his name for now tho.
i am sure bb knows what he is doing and i am no kind of expert but having no starting guards seems detrimental

@mikefreemanNFL Letter from Goodell to owners is lengthy and I'm going through now. Impressive, sweeping changes re domestic violence.
This is pretty cool, if overdue.

interesting and good. makes me wonder what the reasoning was on the ray rice case and what info/footage was not released to the public.

Roger Goodell still showed he was pretty f-ing clueless in his original response as any of these idiots can look smart if you give their lawyers and PR people two months to write up a response. You get paid that kind of money, you shouldn't be blowing these kind of situations, but hey the league making shite tons of money, so it's water under the bridge at this point.
I've really had to turn down my radar on following football as the shit has gotten so deep with the whole thing. I can still get lost in it watching a game, but the NFL seems to be hellbent on killing the golden goose (and the game itself is probably killing a good portion of the players anyway).
I think a decent ILE thread could be started on what is the most corrupt and inept sporting league management in the world. I guess the good thing about the NFL's BS is it's still stuck mostly just to America's heel unlike the Olympics, F1 or UEFA.

Hard to have much sympathy. I always found shorter hair worked better with football. I shaved my head my entire career.

Michael Sam cut.
― Prince Kajuku (Bill Magill), Sunday, 31 August 2014 02:14 (nine years ago) link
Champ Bailey got cut by the Saints. Quite a few big corners moved to safety as their career went on but I'm not sure Bailey is near the hitter like Charles Woodson or especially Rod Woodson.

Consummate tackler in open field, amazing even Imo, but not a hitter.
