There was a Rev. Buck Naked in the Church of the Subgenius. Apparently he and Stang had a falling out.

I've gradually shifted from buck naked to butt nekkid over the years. "Stark raving nude" an occasional alternative.

A friend recently told me that she used to think the expression was "butt wild", not "buck wild"

This is a good thread to mention that, when "Centerfold" by J. Geils Band came out in 1981, I was 11 going on 12. I knew what a centerfold was and understood the gist of the song, but when Peter Wolf sang "to see her in that negligee was nearly just too much," I thought he was singing "to see her in that naked jay was nearly just too much." I had no idea what a negligee was, so my brain just filled with the closest thing that made sense. ("Sense")

I prefer "buck" bcz of that flasher on Hill Street Blues.

"Naked as a jaybird" first heard in the Northeast via the novelty hit "The Streak" I think.
