Shake Shack

Looks like there is a nifty fifty's in northeast Philly now but one of my rules is never go to the Neast

I don't usually fuck with ice cream because apparently I hate america or something, but if I have to mess with it it's gonna be a coffee milkshake or a chocolate soda with peppermint ice cream. Both rather rare. I have yet to try a Shake Shack Shake but I'm gonna soon. Coffee, for sure. Malted sounds like a unusual but worthy plan, thanking u dayo

People who get a plain shake when a malted is on offer are disgusting savages imo

Well tbh I got it malted because I was using my friend's coupon and by malting it I got maximum value

I'm gonna try the burger again over the weekend tbh

As for Shake Shack, I challopically deny it is fundamentally different from e.g. Five Guys

five guys is good but its basically just a big sloppy burger with tons of toppings, shake shack is all abt the flavor of the meat and the meat grease and how it seeps into the bun, much more primordial burger tbqh

Had Shake Shack on UWS of Manhattan in 2009, it was plenty good but I certainly wouldn't have said it stood out as, for lack of a better word, tasting like meat! In fact I would have described it exactly as "a big sloppy burger with tons of toppings." But that was a long time ago and they may well have perfected the formula between then and now!

if I malt my milkshake it will taste like Whoppers and that is SO FUCKING GROSS imo

shake shack is the real deal, they make an outstanding burger. the calorie count on a shackburger isnt completely outrageous; just dont get fries or, if you must, split them with a friend.

five guys isn't worth it on any level imo.

in a million years it wouldn't occur to me to get a malted coffee shake but totally want to try it

One recently opened up at King of Prussia, much to my delight.

UK shake shack is such a disappointment - just terrible in comparison to the manhattan original :-(

luckily five guys opened about the same week in London so i just gorged myself on their fries and cried myself to sleep a bit to get over it

I can't wait for the Chicago Shake Shack to open up. Got to try it when I was in Connecticut last summer and the burgers are so much better than Five Guys.

The biggest problem with Five Guys is the all the goddamn SHOUTING the employees do. "ONE IN THE DOOR", "GOT IT", "TWO PATTIES", "GOT IT", "BYE YOU GUYS" (the last one shouted from the opposite corner of the restaurant as the door. It's fucking obnoxious.

loud talking no bs efficient counter service employees are either great or terrible, there's a fine line.

I had a small thing of ice cream from the london one once. It was underwhelming and overpriced. But I'll prb go back to try a shake at some point if they're recommended. It's difficult to find good milkshakes in the uk.

I really want to have shake shack someday. So bored w/in and out burger.

Having revisited shake shack and 5 guys this weekend can confirm shake shack clearly superior

Toasted butter bun a thing of beauty, although the working class essence of a Five guys double bacon cheeseburger with 'all the toppings' is something I can appreciate if never eat

So clear which chain got their start in DC and which got their start in NY

i have been to both mass shake shack outposts, the harvard one is v nice, the newton one is ok if you have the mistfortune to be driving on rt 9

i pass the Shake Shack in northwest DC all the time when i'm working, finally went in to satisfy my curiosity a few months ago, but i only had a shake and apparently the burgers are a big deal too so i still need to check those out. the shake was fine i guess but i was having a really terrible day that day and i think i had set my hopes too high and there was no way it could bring me the happiness i wanted it to.
