American hard-rock bands of the past 2 decades that are even half as good as Kyuss

I want to like Slough Feg but it just doesn't seem like it's going to happen.

harvey milk is still the only one i can think of. as far as current bands that i like as much as klassic kyuss. i really do like klassic kyuss a bunch. (but i only really LOVE a couple of harvey milk albums. and appreciate/respect/enjoy the others, but maybe not love...)

someone upthread mentinoed Bardo Pond, who I am unfamiliar with--where do you recommend starting?

Tommy Gun Angel (opening track off Lapsed) was my entryway into Bardo Pond and is as sublime a composition as there ever was to walk that thin line between sludge metal and shoegaze*

*first encountered it in the nominations thread for Moka's shoegaze thread

Man, Bardo Pond's self-titled album from 2010 is a fucking masterpiece and has to be one of the greatest American hard rock albums of the past 15 years
